I find it really odd that the Cubs have been shut out for so long and have struck out very few times. It's been weak grounder and fly outs; is that something you attribute to bad luck with babip?

Pretty much, yeah, considering the Cubs have had some hard hit balls right at people and that haven't dropped for hits.

*Leafs through 2009 MLB draft publications to see if there are any worthwhile college 1Bs out there*

Rich Poythress.

He's been hot hot hot with the bat, but he doesn't sound like the kind of guy this team would go for given his limited tools elsewhere.

It'd be like the whole Travis Snider thing all over again.

Exactly. I can't imagine Wilken likes the first round college first baseman types too much.

Hopefully Carlos punches someones lights out before this games over.

And with our luck he'll break his hand and be out for 2 months, and we'd lose our best pitcher and our 4th best hitter.

Wasting yet another fantastic pitching performance; I feel bad for Lilly and Z.

Lilly killed himself with his own fielding though.

You should be able to make 1 little mistake when you supposedly have one of the best offenses in the NL behind you.

St. Louis doesnt look particularly stoppable at this point in time.

They do this every year. Here's the rub. Most of their guys won't keep OPSing over 1.000 for the year.

I can see him being interested in Ryan Wheeler or Ben Paulsen. You probably know more about Wheeler than I do, though.
