Wind blowing out, eh? Is that the first time this season?

Nah, it blew out for portions of the cards series - just not very hard.

That said, I'm sure glad Lilly isn't pitching tonight. Though, the side effect is that Harden's customary 1 solo HR will fly about 40 feet further tonight.

So you guys think I should go? I'd hate to drive an hour, pay for train tickets, take the train, get on the red line, walk to Wrigley only to have it postponed.

Two days off is nice, but it's really going to suck. Hopefully Milton is good to go by Tuesday.

Why risk playing Milton tonight with the crappy weather? Playing with fire, IMO.

Just start him on Wed since the weather is suppose to be much nicer the rest of the week.

Yeah, go. They're going to do everything they can to get this in. There may be a delay but I don't see them completely canceling the second game in a row.

If it does get called, would they do a day-night tomorrow?

An entire day of baseball on my day off?

Yes, please.

This early in the season against a team we'll play as often as cincinnati? Doubtful. July 23 looks like a plausible date for a make-up if it were to be needed. The cubs and reds both have the day off before they start a series at wrigley. It would have to be a night game because the Reds have a late game against the dodgers the day before, but it's plausible.

Granted, this is a complete and total guess.

Yeah, I'd rather not see Harden out there in this type of weather. Meh.

As much as I would love to see Bradley in the lineup for my first game of the year, I have to agree that it would be foolish to put him out there. Of course, that makes his "appeal on principal" look like an even worse decision.

LOL, I always chuckle when I hear this. They're going to do everything they can to get this in? What are they going to do ... change the weather?

I think he just means they will wait out a lengthy rain delay if needed so the cubs don't end up getting booked solid from May to August.

I don't want to risk his health. I said that on Sunday, before I knew the weather would still suck. So yeah, just letting you know.

That's exactly what I mean. Though I haven't heard anything, it would just stand as a decent assumption - based on my past experience - that Wrigley would try their hardest to get this game in. Even if that means delaying it. I could be completely off here, but that would seem like their MO in a situation like this.

It's gonna be more difficult due to the fact it's a night game. They can't go through too lengthy of a rain delay. It all depends on the weather.

I really don't understand why they schedule night games this early in the season. They know the chances are good that the weather will be nasty.

I think the official reason is kids still in school allows them to attend. I think it makes more sense to save a couple of the limited night games for midweek dead of summer, and schedule a few of these games for the day.
