Haha. The tall dude with his girlfriend didn't know the words to Go Cubs Go. He just mumbled off.

I was just saying, if I'd known then what I know now I'd have spent hours at a time working on my pitching when I was younger. If I threw 15-20 mph faster I'd be making 450K/year right now as a pitcher.

In regards to you talking about adding 15 MPH to your fastball, that really isn't that hard if you were really dedicated and had a program you followed from a young age (middle/high school). I played baseball with a guy in HS when I was a Sophomore, the guy was a Junior, he probably consistently threw 65-72. In the offseason between Junior/Senior year he worked out everyday on a throwing program (long toss, weighted balls, lifting, throwing simulated games, etc) and his senior year he came out and was consistently throwing high 70's and could get it up into the mid 80's when he needed to. That was after less than 8 months of being on a throwing program, think if he had gotten more serious about conditioning his arm in say 7th/8th grade or even as a Freshman? He probably could have been throwing high 80's low 90's consistently by the time he was a senior.

just got back, cold and rainy but still great and the Z statue is pretty sweet.

I knew I shouldn't have brought my cat with

and MLB Networks proves they are the best. In response to the cat they showed the cat from Seattle that Bob mentioned in his commentary, and they didn't even mention the foul ball.

[that was in their 'Quick Pitch' program, maybe they did show that stuff in their life update show]

And freaking Comcast has to show the black cat and Bartman, unreal

Sportscenter showed it too.

Note: Alou wouldn't have caught that ball anyway. Let it go.

I don't understand why people keep bringing up the cat or Bartman or the goat anyways. I can't recall the last time I talked to a Cub fan who used those as any kind of excuse. I swear the only time they're ever mentioned is by other fans talking trash and the media filling up air time.

Sports "news" organizations, whether it's local, national, blog form, 24-hour or even just the 4 nightly news tidbit, have a lot of time to kill and look for easy stories. This is an easy story. Boston fans heard about Buckner and Bucky Dent and the Curse of the Bambino until they finally won it, same is going to be true for the Cubs.
