judging from his behavior in the series, this should be the straw that breaks the camel's back. from tripping kirk to punching miller to throwing kirk into the scorer's table, he's been a thug in the series and he doesn't deserve to play in game 7. but, the celtics are the dirtiest bunch of pukes in the NBA, maybe the league will chalk it up to boston being boston and do nothing.

Guys, how "ever" is this playoff series? Like, greatest non-Finals ever? 7 overtimes in six games? Five of the games are instant classics? How unbelievable is this?

The Celts can't possibly blow us out in Game 7. I'm pretty sure they'll win somehow, but they're older and have played six OTs of basketball in the last four days.

Its CRAZY good. The last really good one i can think of is the Pippen Trail Blazers vs the Shaq and Kobe Lakers. Then you gotta go back to some of the Knicks V. Bulls. There was a Kings/Lakers in there somewhere too i think.

This is the only game 7 where im like nooo i want more. The finality of a game 7 is always intense but every game of this series up to 7 has unlike any other playoff series. Its almost anti climatic at the same time.

I really don't think Hinrich tripping over Rondo can be placed in the same category as the foul on Miller which I really don't think can be placed in the same category as the Hinrich toss.

Hinrich tripped over Rondo's foot, I don't think there's any way to prove any sort of intent there.

then

Rondo went to foul a guy going for a layup to prevent him from scoring, and winds up smacking him in the face

then

Rondo gets tangled up with Hinrich, and loses his temper tossing Hinrich into the table.

Any one of these on their own is a non-story, the problem is the escalation of events.

that's a whole lot of coincidence considering no other player in the series (the puky celtics included) has given one foul that has been as noticed.

and yeah, he knew what he was doing when he tripped hinrich. he stuck his leg out, looked down and then stopped, he had no intention of ever going up for the block or giving a foul on the shot. it was pretty obvious.

There's a pretty fine line between an intentional trip, and a late getting to the spot trip. I put it on the same level as whoever busted up Pierce last night. It only got attention becasue Hinrich was cut open.

There has been zero discussion on ESPN of Rondo being booted for game 7. It doesn't seem like a consideration. I think the NBA will say the issue was settled on the court w/ the flagrant 1.

ESPN sucks.

You know the NBA called them up and told them to downplay the whole Rondo thing. I just got home so I haven't seen SportsCenter yet but there's no way that whoever was talking about the game is so stupid as to completely neglect something like that without being instructed to do so. I'm not a huge ESPN fan, but that play obviously stands out.

They did discuss it when I was watching. It was during their little "three guys sitting at a table segement" with Jalen Rose. The one ESPN anchor (sorry, I don't know all the names because I rarely watch ESPN) asked Rose if he though Rondo might get suspended and Rose pretty much said no way, the refs took care of it in game and kept it from escalating so there was no reason for further punishment. He said that Rondo is lucky that the elbow he threw when Hinrich came after him missed because obviously if that had connected he would be facing major punishment. So while they don't support the suspension I think to say they completely neglected it would be unfair. Also, I think most non-Bulls fans would argue against him being suspended if for no other reason than they want to see both teams at full strength for an epic game 7, so I think Jalen Rose's comments are fair.

They didn't discuss the possibility at all on the west coast sportscenter. I didn't catch NBA fastbreak or whatever. And as of last night, i couldn't find any discussion of it on espn.com

I like this picture. When you're in a shot with Scalabrine and Noah, and you're the goofiest looking mf'er, you've got problems.

Also, deadspin thinks KG is going to want to pull a Willis Reed tomorrow.

Looks like he's trying to flap his wings to get up the court. That's awesome and may have to be my new sig.

it was intentional. if he was late getting to the spot, he wouldn't have stopped and stuck his leg out, he just would have collided with kirk and they both would have gone down. it was controlled.

Anyone else have the feeling the Bulls have won despite themselves? They got a clueless coach, they don't play defense (this is the primary reason Rondo has looked "good") and continue to make the same mistakes yet, they've managed to win 3 games and send it back to Boston. Wasn't Rose' block of Rondo' shot a thing of beauty?

Leave Aaron Gray alone.

Yes, the Bulls do absolutely everything wrong and have just managed to be a very good team since February completely despite themselves.

Not much talk about Rose's block last night, but man I was amazed by that.

You aren't supposed to be able to block a fade away shot like that. At least, I don't see it very often. I hear guys go "that shot just can't be defended" when they talk about fade aways.

Well, Rose just defended the un-defendable. Great stuff.

The Bulls aren't a championship level team. However, they are very talented right now, and it seems oddly timed to mention no defense when the two biggest plays of last night's game were defensive plays (well, one was a defensive-offensive play).

rondo has looked good because the bull shave attempted to force him to beat them in this series and it's kind of worked, for the most part.

I really cant believe the impact Noah has had this series. If he can play like this most of the year next year it could be fun. Right now, Noah is the Bulls MVP of the entire series in my opinion

Agreed. And really, he's been doing this all year, at least when Del Negro gave him the minutes. It's nice to see him get some recognition finally from some folks who maybe didn't appreciate his contributions to the team. It's very clear that he's a legitimate NBA center, and I'm excited to have him on the Bulls for years to come.
