I do appreciate Milton Bradley.

I appreciate Battlestar, Monopoly, Yahtzee, Scrabble, and I really appreciate Trivial Pursuit.

Sorry, someone HAD to make the Milton Bradley joke, and I do like those games.

With that said, I hope Bradley stays healthy and puts up a line he did last yr with Texas.

oh boy

I love this site, I really do but what's with the strict rules on expletives? I get it, we don't want this to turn into dodgerblue.com or whatever that site is called. But come-on, a large majority of us are men who (and whose friends) swear like sailors. I get the no personal attacks but if I want to say Theriot's arm [expletive] blows how many would that offend?

Maybe I'm off-base here (and I'm sure someone will tell me if I am) but c'mon man, I'm here to talk bball like I'm at the game, and to be honest I usually sit in the bleachers.

You know SOMEONE had to make the joke eventually. So I figure let's get the joke out of the way NOW, and move on.

It's not that it would offend anybody necessarily, though I'm sure it would some. But like others have pointed to it keeps it safe for work, school, and if you have children around. Beyond that, it makes the site look more professional. I know this board actually has held media credentials with at least one cubs minor league organization and I think still at least receives press releases from the team.

It just looks bad to have a site filled with vulgar language.

I like the rule. makes it friendly for work.

i never understand when people say this. the only way a person would even see a cuss word is if they were standing over your shoulder reading. and if they did, they'd be close enough to see that its a baseball message board. why would they care if somebody on it said a bad word?

Is it really that big of a deal? If I say that Juan Pierre [expletive] sucks, is it that hard to figure out what censored word I'm using?

Sure it is. Taking time out to surf the net every now and then helps people relax, therefore making them more productive during the rest of the day.

Reasonable, but good luck selling it to your boss.

As the boss, I encourage it!

Was it only one fan there? If so, is it really that time consuming to sign a single autograph for a kid?

I'm not ripping on him for not doing it, but I don't think "having a baby a few days ago" is a good enough excuse for not signing one autograph.

He just smiled and gave me dap on making my first All-Star team.

Besides the birth of my son, I don’t think I’ve had a prouder moment in my life. The embrace with Wash was a special one. It felt like a father-son moment to me. In 30 years, I’ve never really had one of those so I can only imagine that’s what it must feel like.

He was very proud of making the all star team as evident by this article he wrote. Will you care if next spring training he wears a 2009 All Star shirt? I doubt it. I can see being disappointed in MB for being a bit of an ass about signing an autograph, but for wearing a 2008 all star shirt - come on now thats just silly.

bleedcubbieblue has done a LOT more "professional type things" (for lack of a better phrase) when it comes to being scene as a professional cubs site/blog/whatever... anyways, my point is that on that site you don't have some moderator jumping all over you or issuing a "board warning" when you cuss.

i agree with the op, it's very silly for a bunch of grown men to be told not to curse on a baseball site. i would get it if this were a religious forum, but come on.

and lol at the guy who said bradley shouldn't wear a 2008 all star game t-shirt. wtf??
