this is what you get for going around on big east and louisville message boards saying that "we're elite too!!!11!!!" over and over and over again. the big east ain't conference usa ladies. we should know, we beat your rear ends on our way out to the big east. since louisville, cincinnati, marquette, and charlotte left conference usa 4 years ago, memphis has been dominant. WONDER WHY.

 

and those hacks on teevee trying to convince the unwashed masses that memphis state was alledgedly that DAMN good, point to ponder- out of all the teams that memphis state beat, their only good wins were to a mediocre (yeah, i said it) gonzaga team and an even worse tennessee team. it's real easy to win that many in conference games and hold people to those low point totals when every other team is the equivalent of an average high school team. memphis state couldn't score all year and all it took was an aggressive offensive team to put them away. THEY PLAYED NOBODY AND GOT EXPOSED FOR THE POSEURS THAT THEY ARE.

think the acc is the best conference in basketball cry-zewsky? our fourth place team in the big east simply dominated that basketball game against the acc champions from start to finish. it was in no doubt. i should have put money on that game. i was telling people who would listen that villanova would dominate because of nova's defense and because duke was not going to rebound against villanova.

 

this year's ncaa tournament may just end up being the big east invitational. i certainly think that we have proved it with 3 of 8 teams in the elite 8 this year and could quite possibly make that 5 of 8 tomorrow. there is already a guaranteed big east member in the final 4.

 

oh yeah, about rick. he's not going anywhere. he had a choice between michigan and louisville 8 years ago. he came here because he loves the state and it's a bigtime (and the most profitable or near the most) basketball program. he gets to stay on the east coast, he gets to stay in kentucky, and he gets to go to new york every year whether its when the cards play st. johns, seton hall, rutgers, or the big east tournament. he said he only considered providence because he has family ties there for 24 hours when that job became open. rick pitino will retire a louisville cardinal.

I was going to make a short post observing the cool fact that the Big East is almost certainly going to have half the Elite 8 - maybe 5, but I don't like Cuse's odds against the Griffin's - but loukycub took care of that for me.

 

Purdue's game plan was horrible. It's like they bought all the ridiculous Thabeet hype. If they'd actually gone after him, they might've had a shot. But the only times I saw a ball go near Thabeet were when Purdue players were seemingly handing him blocks by putting up soft layups. I don't recall more than 4 or 5 times that JaJuan Johnson touched the ball.

 

Since I have Mizzou in the Final 4, it'd be really nice if they didn't display the lack of fortitude in that area on Saturday.
