Depending on how cheap hed sign for, Id be intrigued.

If he says he doesn't care about money and will come cheap, I see no harm in at the very least inviting him to spring training. As much as I'd like to see Marshall succeed as a starter, if Schilling is healthy and marginally productive it'd be nice to have a player like him in the rotation

If he is cheap, go for it. He'll probably outproduce Marshall and with the injury risks in our rotation another option wouldn't be a bad thing. I thought he said before he wasn't going to sign with anyone until mid summer.

I'd love to sign Schilling, I wanted him last offseason. In hindsight I'm glad we didn't sign him with him getting hurt. But I'd sign him to a 1y 2m deal with incentives or something like that.

Thinking a little more on it ... it would be worth it just to here Schilling talk back to Ozzie when Ozzie does his yearly tradition of bashing the Cubs.

I heard an interview on XM that Schilling wanted to play for the Cubs about a month ago. I couldn't find it online and I didn't know how serious he was so I never posted anything about it.

 

If he'd sign for about 4 or 5 million I'd be all over it.

Having both Marshall and Heilman in the bullpen would be a plus, since in my mind the bullpen is a huge weakness right now. I kinda hope this happens. Never did really understand the hatred of Schilling.

Schilling's all about his public image, and knows if the Cubs win a world series and he's even on the playoff roster, he'll sail into the hall of fame for teaching him how to win. Do that Curt, and I won't hate you so much.

He's not going to open the season, he'll probably be a second half guy.

i wouldn't give him that much for part of a season but i'd give him a contract with a low base and lots of incentives.

 

he really has a sense of baseball history and knows what it meant to be associated with the red sox breaking "the curse," and i'm sure he'd love to ride off into the sunset after helping the cubs end their 100+ year drought.
