Russell might have a stronger arm from one arm slot and with his feet properly set. He still takes longer to get rid of the ball than Cutler. I'll take Cutler's arm when moving up in the pocket, on the run, or without having his feet set over anyone's.

I'd take Cutler any day of the week for pretty much anything. I was just saying that Russell has the purely strongest arm in the league.

Id like to know who the 10 Qbs are that are supposedly better than Cutler?

The only Qbs definitely better than Cutler are P Manning, Brady, Brees.

The only others that may even have an argument is Warner, McNabb, Roethlisberger, and Romo. And of this group, 1 will be retired soon, 1 is on his way down, 1 has had the luxury of an amazing defense, and the other has the most talented team in the league and can't win after November.

However, I do think another great season by Rivers, Cassel (especially in KC), Rodgers, Eli (especially w/o Plax), a healthy year from Schaub, or an MVP like year by Matt Ryan could put them in the discussion.

As of this moment, I would rank Cutler as the 5th or 6th best QB, depending on how you feel about McNabb.

Yea I agree with that which is why I questioned Cutler being called a "top 10-15" qb which is ridiculous. Cutler is more of a top 5 qb than he is a top 10-15. I think El Cabello is letting his Packer homerism get in the way.[/quote]

Yeah probably

Ugh, Lovie is moving Corey Graham to safety so Vasher can play more corner:

''We have all of those guys in the mix, and we still have Danieal Manning,'' Smith said. ''Look at other players. We have Corey Graham.''

While Charles Tillman was rumored to be the cornerback on the move after last season, it could be Graham trading places in an effort to get the best four defensive backs on the field. He started nine games at cornerback last season, but the Bears are hoping former Pro Bowl corner Nathan Vasher rounds back into form, and they have high hopes for Moore.

If one of them steps up, Graham has earned a chance to start, and sliding the 6-foot, 193-pounder into the middle would add someone with range to cover the deep post. He has proved to be a willing participant in run support.

I'm more interested in what the plan will be when Vasher gets injured. Because based on the past couple seasons, he will be injured.

Is this bad because you think Vasher has nothing left? I thought Graham was fairly decent last year even by the poor overall play of the secondary.

He's made of glass, and he hasn't shown anything at all the past 2 years. I'm very skeptical of Vasher's ability to contribute at a high level.

I dislike Vasher. He's overrated, always injured, and can't tackle if his life depended on it.

Yeah. I like the idea of getting all your best talent on the field at the same time even if the positions don't quite fit but I don't think you should be moving around a young player like Graham just to give Vasher the starting corner spot after a poor season and multiple injuries. It's quite possible Graham will end up right back at corner and he won't get as many reps in the offseason and practice as he should have.

It's definitely not ideal, but if the alternative is sticking with the safeties they already have, I'd rather mess around with Graham a little and hope for some improvement out of Vasher.

From Rotoworld:

Former Bucs and Colts DE Simeon Rice reiterated that he still hopes to return to the NFL in 2009.

Rice laid it on thick, proclaiming himself "automatically in the top five in the league" as a pass rusher if he put on a helmet right now. Rice says he recently talked to the Bucs and Bears and thinks he could get a tryout soon.

Thoughts?

Pass rush is a skill that can be turned back on with a flip of a switch. I'd be fine with a one year deal with him just playing in obvious passing downs. No strong feeling either way though.

Good hopefully Favre does go to Minnesota. He's awful.

Exactly. People keep saying "Well, he's better than Jackson or Rosenfels."

That's probably true. But with those guys, you don't feel the pressure to keep throwing all the time. When Favre is on your team, he's going to throw, and he's going to throw a lot of bad picks.

I heard Rice in an interview on WSCR early in the offseason, and he was basically begging the Bears to give him a chance. The guy had nothing but great things to say about Maranelli, and says hes healthier now than he has been in years. Rice has always been a physical speciman, I really dont see the downside in giving him a shot. Hell give him a 1 year deal, and if it doesnt work out I wouldnt mind seeing him help coach the defensive ends.

Rice is/was what I was hoping Anderson might end up being. That hope has kind of slipped out the window.

Rice is very unlikely to help you guys. The Colts gave him a shot in 07 when Freeney went down and he got to play alongside Robert Mathis. He should have been a perfect fit for the system, but he was so incredibly slow at that point. The 1 sack he did get was complete luck and an extreme coverage sack to boot. The Colts were desperate for pass rushing the last half of 07 and they quickly cut him after that 1 sack game because he didn't have any athletic ability anymore.

Now he's a year and a half older. It's no problem bringing him in, but he'll just be cut in training camp.

Rice seems like he would be even older and slower than the old & slow guys we already have.

And alot of TD's.

Brett Favre before he got hurt. Entering Week 12.

65% comp perc.

20 TDS/12 INT

8-3 team record

He won't throw all the time with Minnesota like he did with New York. He will also have the best RB in the league to hand if off to. Berrian, Rice and Harvin will be a nice group to throw to. Also Minnesota has one of the best D's in the league.

Favre makes the Vikings a Superbowl contender.

Cherrypicking endpoints.

And you can't discount when a QB his age gets hurt. He's likely to be playing hurt a lot.

In theory, for a couple months. But he will inevitably lose them a game they should win, and screw them over. It's what he does best. I can't wait to see him throwing to Urlacher and Briggs.

Have you seen Minnesota's O line? Its pretty good. He would have to throw it about 20 times a game. Any Bear/Packer fan that is saying Favre to the Vikings doesn't make them better, they are wrong.

It makes Minnesota better, but I still think the Bears are the favorites for the division.

And I'm a Titans fan.
