there are literally a dozen qb's (including rodgers and pennington) who have outplayed favre. take out favre's ONE really good game (6 tds vs. az) and he's well below average. and what a crap schedule they've played...

Which is why I don't think he should win it.

He will get consideration, though. Right or wrong.

What about rookie of the year?

How do you pick between Matt Ryan, Forte, and Chris Johnson? Heck, Ryan Clady deserves major consideration too.

I'm sure Matt Ryan will run away with the award but there are a bunch of guys who deserve some consideration including Forte, Johnson and you.

Yeah, Ryan will win it. It's such a hard call between him, CJ and Forte though.

I'd probably give CJ a slight edge over Forte and Ryan, but I have trouble blaming someone for voting for any of the three.

I don't think anybody with an MVP vote will even remotely consider Favre. Don't let the pro bowl invite fool you, it's a popularity contest that's heavily skewed by the (idiotic) fans vote. Favre isn't even the MVP of the Jets offense.

If by some miracle the Chargers could reach the playoffs then I think Rivers should win, but I'm probably on my own with that one. He's the only player that has kept that horribly coached and unmotivated team afloat. When the Chargers inevitable lose on a 64 yard field goal Sunday, I have no problem with Peyton winning.

I think he'll get consideration because the media (read: ESPN) will pimp him like crazy. Actually, I hadn't seen his numbers recently (no real reason to look) and now that I see them, I tend to think he shouldn't even be in the conversation. Jenkins may well be the MVP of that team.

I don't know if he should win mainly because it'd be the Broncos imploding more than anything that would get SD back into the playoff race. With his stats, though, he should get consideration - especially if they climb back in the race.

The only person I'd definitely put right with him is Adrian Peterson. Michael Turner deserves a mention too.

Favre will as well - which may be deserved. The Jets sucked last year and Favre has come in and now they're decent.

oh come on.

I question whether he should get it or not. The additions of guys like Kris Jenkins and Calvin Pace (I think they got him this past offseason) definitely helped, but would the Jets be where they are now with Kellen Clemens or Chad Pennington? They weren't last year with those two, so I doubt it.

Considering Pennington has been better than Favre this year, I imagine they would be. Of course, you can't just play the stat game with what-ifs because of the other factors, but on paper, the Jets would be better off with Pennington.

Getting ready to drive to Dallas for the last game in Texas Stadium. It's going to rock!

Go Cowboys!

Vance, you are a very lucky man. I really wish I could go, the environment will probably be the craziest it has ever been there. BTW, Ed Hochuli's crew will be working the game and both Jerry and Crayton have taken shots at him this year. It will be interesting to see how many times he'll try to show off his guns tonight.

I wonder if Pennington fits better in Miami's system than the Jets'. Either way, neither should be in the MVP conversation.

Romo throws an early INT, but it pinned the Ravens down deep. Ware got a sack and FF on Baltimore's first drive, Greg Ellis recovers the ball! Tashard Choice caps it off with a rushing TD!

what Chad Pennington has done this year is absolutely remarkable.

It's impressive how no one's been talking about Miami this season. Joey Porter is a freaking stud while providing the added bonus of being freaking crazy.

It is interesting that, in spite of being 9-5 following a 1-15 year and controlling their own destiny for the AFC East title, the intrigue of the blowout at Foxboro and the wildcat formation (especially now that other teams are suddenly using it) has worn off, and thusly so has the coverage. As a Dolphins fan, I'm very much prepared for the possibility that next year's team could be better while having a worse record. It is funny how all the talk about Ware going for the sack record seems to have overlooked that Porter is right there with him, though.

It's a sad truth that no team will get the coverage that the Cowboys/Patriots/Giants/Jets will - even if those teams thoroughly suck.

The Pats got massive, fawning coverage after starting 10-0 last season. The Titans this year? Mostly ignored and most of the coverage (save for Ditka and Deion) was about why they had no shot.

Ware plays for Dallas, thus he'll get more coverage for the same feat that Porter is going for.

Dallas has already sacked Flacco 5 times and we haven't reached halftime yet. Too bad our offense is still disfunctional :(

I'm afraid Derrick Mason may not survive this game.

He's been a very underrated receiver.

I'm pretty sure he already got sent to the lockerroom. He was down atleast twice because of his shoulder, and I don't think he came back after his fumble.

He didn't. They took him to the locker room after that hit.

If the game stays close, though, I wouldn't expect him to remain out, though.

Roy Williams needs to stop acting like a clown. You're supposed to be an elite WR and you're freaking out after getting two average, relatively short catches. Your only catches of the night.

Loving this game though. The fake FG was a beaut.

Jason Garrett needs to be fired. The level of regression and ineptitude displayed by this offense is appalling.

Are we even having this discussion if not for some horrific deep throws by Romo?

Garrett is good. He's still adjusting to the schemes d-coordinators are putting up on him. His attack, attack, attack, with the constant forcing of the deep ball needs to be reined in a bit because defenses have adjusted. They need to be more effective in the short to intermediate passing game.

This has been a heck of a game. It's a shame that the offense showed up so late.
