I met some kid a couple weeks ago wearing a Cubs hat. When I mentioned it, he said he used to be a Pirates fan but gave up on them because he needed a team that at least gave the fans hope, even if that team hasn't won a WS in a century.

Nice general statement with absolutely nothing to back it up. Why would getting rid of a defensively able SS be a positive for the Pirates? You act like they could just trade him for equal or better value and instantly sign a better player. This isn't Xbox.
