Fine, no one mentions that all of their road games in the conference are out of the state.

In fact, let's look at the total number of games played out of state since 1990 by five of the biggest programs:

108 Ohio State

96 Michigan

83 Southern Cal

81 Florida

54 Texas

In fact the only reason that Michigan's ahead of USC and UF are that a lot of the former two school's bowl games are in state. Now let's look at winning percentage.

72% Florida

68% Ohio State

67% Michigan

67% Texas

61% Southern Cal

Because almost all road games in every conference in America are out of state.

USC has played 13 bowls in Cali over the past 18 years? Florida with 15??

And you act like this is no big deal, the bowl games are the ones that the idiots place the most importance on and those are the ones that these teams get home games in.

Standard disclaimer that playing bowl games in the Big Ten area would be colossally stupid. Just saying the way you write it off is pretty weak.

This really isn't true. Pretty much half the ACC plays in the carolinas. Half the Big XII plays in Texas. Half the Pac 10 plays in California. Half the MAC plays in Ohio. And really in the other areas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech, for instance get tagged in the same state. That distance is roughly the same drive as, say, Michigan to Ohio State twice. Really the fact that there is or is not a border between them doesn't matter. Florida plays as many out of state games as any non Big Ten schools does.

I found this on another board. Florida's non conference schedules the last 18 years. Interesting to say the least:

1990: Oklahoma State (Gainesville), Furman (Gainesville), Akron (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

1991: San Jose State (Gainesville), Syracuse (Syracuse), Northern Illinois (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

1992: Louisville (Gainesville), Southern Miss (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

1993: Arkansas State (Gainesville), SW Louisiana (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

1994: New Mexico St (Gainesville), Southern Miss (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

1995: Houston (Gainesville), Northern Illinois (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

1996: SW Louisiana (Gainesville), Georgia Southern (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

1997: Southern Miss (Gainesville), Central Michigan (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

1998: The Citadel (Gainesville), Northeast Louisiana (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

1999: Western Michigan (Gainesville), Central Florida (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

2000: Ball State (Gainesville), Middle Tennessee State (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

2001: Marshall (Gainesville), Lousiana-Monroe (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

2002: UAB (Gainesville), Miami (Gainesville), Ohio (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

2003: San Jose State (Gainesville), Miami (Miami), FAMU (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

2004: Eastern Michigan (Gainesville), Middle Tenn State (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

2005: Wyoming (Gainesville), La Tech (Gainesville), FSU(Gainesville)

2006: Southern Miss (Gainesville), UCF (Gainesville), Western Carolina (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

2007: Western Kentucky (Gainesville), Troy (Gainesville), FAU (Gainesville), FSU (Gainesville)

2008: Hawaii (Gainesville), Miami (Gainesville), The Citadel (Gainesville), FSU (Tallahassee)

Florida hasn't left the state to play a non-con game in 18 years.

Syracuse is in Florida?

Do I really need to spell this out for you? That's the last time they played out of state.

Time to kick Andy while he's down.

Marlon Pollard has decommitted from Notre Dame and committed for the second time in 2 years to UCLA. A decommit from Miami, Notre Dame and USC in the same year, not too shabby. :)

Since 2002 UCLA has had three top 25 recruiting classes. I only bring this up cause I was talking with a friend about this yesterday, and because to me there should be no reason they are not top 20 every single year. I just don't understand it. Maybe things will start changing.

It's because Karl Dorrell ate babies while at UCLA. At least that's what Raisin claims.

"The Carolinas" is not a state. They are two states, but you only wrote it that way to support your point.

Also, half of the Big 12 is not in Texas. Nor is half the Pac 10 in California.

Not sure why you have to make up things to prove a point. Rampant insecurity, I guess.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read this. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I don't know a whole ton about ND recruiting but I don't know the name Marlon Pollard. I do know that expecting us to nab the top class this year would be foolish after we miraculously managed to do so last year at 3-9.

Pretty accurate. ND currently ranked as having the 19th best class with a lot of 3 star guys, and I don't really see any of the top uncommitted guys going their on signing day. You got a solid RB, and still have a shot at the top LB but its pretty wide open on him.

That probably would explain why his recruiting classes were so bad.

I'm guessing those 3 include 2 from Toledo's last 2 seasons and the 1 from last year in Dorrell's last season. Dorrell just couldn't recruit and his coaching tenure matched up with Carroll's rise 10 miles away. Horrible combo.

They should have a top 20 class this year. :)

4 star cornerback from So Cal who committed to UCLA 2 summers ago, decommitted from UCLA and committed to Notre Dame last summer and then decommitted from ND and was a silent to UCLA for the past month.

Tis official. You guys have another year of Tim Tebow to look forward to. His holiness shall baptize you in swamp water.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida quarterback Tim Tebow announced at Sunday's national championship celebration he will return for his senior season.

After accepting the award as the BCS championship offensive MVP, Tebow started to walk off the stage at the Gators's stadium known as The Swamp. Then he turned and said: "Oh, by the way, one more thing, let's do it again. I'm coming back.'"

Maybe he'll get lucky again and be able to dodge USC for another year.
