I only give Iowa a 40% of jumping us for the Outback, so this 17-7 Oregon lead is nice to see.

Of course, if Oregon State pulls it out, Iowa can jump us for the Alamo all they want.

How is there any chance that we dont jump you?

Man, it would be truly comical if Okie State beats OU. Imagine that happening and Tech going on to win the Big XII title...the backpedaling done by Texas fans of head-to-head being the end-all, be-all factor for championship games would create another Dust Bowl.
Actually, I think that scenario could work in Texas' favor. It would eliminate any possibility of Oklahoma being ranked higher than Texas, and therefore might increase Texas' chances of playing in the national championship game against the Alabama-Florida winner.

what he's saying is that since it's assumed that an OU win will put them ahead of texas and into the big 12 championship, texas and texas fans are saying that they should finish ahead of ou because they beat teh sooners head-to-head.

if osu wins, then it will be texas tech going to the big 12 championship, and texas fans will have their own argument used against them.

True; my point was that the irony is that, even though it would work against Texas as far as the Big 12 championship game is concerned, it could work FOR Texas as far as the national championship game is concerned. It would eliminate one potential roadblock from the path to the title game. Kind of like losing the battle to win the war.

I think there's a significant chance that doesn't happen. The game will likely be a sellout regardless and we still travel well with a significant percentage of our grads in Florida, DC, and NY, as well as spend a lot. Iowa has an advantage with their win over Penn State and Shonn Greene, but I don't believe ticket sales is a big issue.

I wouldn't be surprised if Iowa was going to the Alamo regardless of the BCS situation. Or at least that's my hope.

Not necessarily. Last year Georgia was ranked fourth (ahead of LSU at No. 5/No. 7 and Oklahoma at No. 9/No. 8 in AP/Coaches), behind Missouri, WVU and Ohio State. But after LSU won the SEC title game and Oklahoma won the Big 12 title game, Georgia stayed at No. 4 behind both LSU and Oklahoma in both polls.

So if Oklahoma loses today and Texas Tech wins the Big 12 title game, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Tech jumps Texas in the final standings. I would think Texas' best chance is if Oklahoma wins today but loses to Missouri next week.

What a disaster of a game. I liked the gold jerseys, but mostly because I was afraid they'd look like West Virginia yellow.

Carl Gettis picked an awful time to have a bad game, and we got torched over and over because they lined up Meier against our worst secondary member. Reesing should've been sacked a half dozen more times than he was, he single handedly won the game with how many times he not only avoided sacks, but then managed miracle completions.

Haha, do the refs have money on Oregon? REALLY?

Whoever painted ND's helmets did a horrible job. They all look like they have been microwaved and the paint is melting off.

Screw you, OSU. You don't deserve the Rose Bowl.

Fire Matt Eberflus. If there is a defensive coordinator who adjusts less than he does, I'm sorry for whatever team has that person. You'd think when the other team has a wide open receiver on nearly EVERY play, you'd adjust out of the zone. Terrible.

I look forward to OU/Texas/Texas Tech ripping us a new one next week, then we can go to the Casey's General Store Bowl.

Those Mizzou jerseys were an affront to the eyes. I'm totally buzzing over that win. though if Coffman had been healthy the whole game, I don't know if we could have won.

Oh, and Dez Briscoe is a stud and will play on Sundays.

After the third solid return from him, I was screaming for them to stop kicking it to him. They didn't.

Congrats on the win. I'm sure it made a rather dismal season worthwhile for ya.

P.S. the gold jerseys were beautiful

If Okie State can pull off this shocker (which they won't), UT has their ticket punched to the title game, despite not winning the big xii south.

No they don't.

Um, yes they do. They're number two in the computers right now. Alabama is barely, and I stress barely ahead of them in the computers. If Alabama loses, they will surely fall behind UT in both the polls and the computers. If Alabama beats Florida, then UT is going to stay right where they're at. Granted, and Oklahoma loss will probably move the Gators ahead of the 'Horns initially in the BCS, but one of the two teams will drop next weekend. UT doesn't have to play next season so the only way they get knocked out of the title game is if a one loss Alabama losing to Florida or a one loss USC passes them up next weekend. There's no way USC is going to be able to make a big statement against UCLA and Notre Dame to make up the billion points needed in the polls and there is absolutely no way that they can catch UT in the computers. There's also no way voters are going to put Alabama ahead of UT if Alabama loses the last game.

So yes, if Oklahoma State wins tonight, Texas has clinched a BCS title berth.
