ESPN.com's Graham Watson, who's essentially been the site's Ball State beat writer this year, speculates today that a bowl game matching up an undefeated Ball State and an undefeated Boise State is within the realm of possibility.
But a place the game could end up, if several scenarios happen, is the Motor City Bowl if Ohio State goes to the BCS, or the Independence Bowl if Colorado loses to Nebraska and Auburn loses to Alabama.
One down, one to go. Roll Tide!

Consider it done.

You won't see a BSUx2 game because Ball St. won't agree to play Boise St. in Boise.

Meph, if the Auburn/Alabama bowl is decided by a touchdown, then the score will have to be single digits, as Auburn can't score at all.

First sign I saw on Gameday this morning was "OU + BCS = LOL"

only as much as florida's strength of schedule would be helped by an 8-4 team beating a 4-8 team; i.e., very very very little.

Ah, OK. Wasn't sure if points put up by teams that beat you makes any difference on that sort of thing.

i don't believe so. personally i think that any system that regards texas tech's win over texas the same as oklahoma's win over texas tech is terrible. if you want to add a limit to margin of victory so that teams aren't rewarded for running up the score - say, 30 points - that's fine. but margin of victory should really matter.

I do agree that there should be a limit, otherwise you're pretty much promoting running up the score. I think a 20-30 cap on margin of victory would be a good thing.

Latest rumor (which I put almost ZERO stock in...):

Norm Chow to be Kiffin's OC at Tennessee.

Not gonna' happen, but that's out there floating around.

That would be hilarious. The thought of Monte Kiffin at DC and Norm Chow at OC at Tennessee makes me very happy.

I agree, though, pretty much less than zero chance of that happening.

Today's names...

Bill Callahan at OC. Yogi Roth for WR/TE, and Art Kehoe as OL coach. Sounds like Scott will not be retained after all. Trooper was offered a position, but not as an OC, and not for as much money as he's making now.

Hmmm, the names are beginning to sound worse. I'm disgusted by Bill Callahan, never heard of Yogi Roth and I don't know much about Art Kehoe except that he was a part of that horrible Orgeron regime in Oxford.

It wouldn't necessarily be in Boise. It could be in Shreveport (Independence Bowl) or Detroit (Motor City Bowl). Both of those are neutral sites which could have a BSU vs. BSU matchup if the pieces fall into place.

i dont wanna see boise crush ball state
You won't.

I love what Ball St. has done this year, but I believe that this year's Boise team is better than the team that won the Fiesta Bowl two years ago. I really don't think that game would be much of a contest.

You never know with bowl games. Quite often a game that looks one-sided winds up being much closer than expected or even going the other way. The lengthy layoff between the end of the regular season and the bowl games can cause teams to lose their edge. I'll admit BSU (the one in Idaho) would be expected to handily beat BSU (the one in Indiana), but anything can happen; that's why they play the games. And I'd like to see that matchup for the publicity it would generate regardless of the outcome. I agree with Andy that losing to Boise State would be preferable to beating Wisconsin or Minnesota.

Georgia Tech has no semblance of a defense whatsoever today.

They're moving the ball decently enough, but UGA is just walking up and down the field with nearly no effort.

28-12 Georgia now, less than a minute til halftime.

Sylvester Croom has officially resigned from the Miss St head coaching job.

He had good defenses most of his tenure there, but his offenses were utterly horrific.

Stinks. I was enjoying watching State stink under him. Question now becomes who are they gonna get. Any SEC head coaching spot is highly coveted.

I doubt this happens, but I wonder what kind of interest Phil Fulmer would have in that job (and likewise, what kind of interest MSU would have in Phil).

I don't think he would've been fired after this season. Luckily for Miss. St. they don't have to fire him now.

I kinda suspect his resignation was less than voluntary.

And these announcers doing the UGA/GT game are befuddling. Josh Nesbitt was well outside the tackle box and threw the ball away, and the announcers are trying to figure out why a flag wasn't thrown for intentional grounding.

I doubt there is interest, and I doubt Fulmer would insult UT by going to another SEC team. If Fulmer coaches again, it will be in a non SEC conference.

You're probably right, but I wouldn't have the slightest problem with Fulmer taking an SEC job. He was forced out - he didn't want to go. Therefore, I don't think there should be limitations on where he goes - self-imposed or otherwise.

After a force-out, I don't believe a coach owes a school anything.

Just saw on ESPN that Oregon State's Jacquizz Rogers is out today. I knew he was very doubtful, so I don't know if this is news or not.

It's a big loss for the Beavers in their pursuit of the Pac-10 title.

they said during the Boise St. game that Boise St. would rather play TCU on a neutral field than BSU on a neutral field. They said they would only play BSU at home, and the Cardinals have said no way

the Humanitarian Bowl is in Boise, and they said that they won't accept an invite to play against Ball St. anywhere but the Humanitarian

has anyone noticed what eastern michigan did their last two games? they lost to temple 55-52, then beat central michigan 56-52. their quarterback was 50-76 for 484 yards against temple, then 58-80 for 516 yards and 5 td's against central. one of their receivers had 40 catches in the 2 games. it's like they suddenly decided "screw it, we're a boring minor-conference team and our coach is getting canned, let's just do something crazy."
