That's why the title is always updated with the most recent "major" news.

So I shouldn't expect to read Peavy dicussions when I open the "Levine Upgrades Peavy Deal to "Alive"" thread? Just so I'm clear...

Carry on with your bickering over the Reds future in whatever thread you feel comfortable.

With Pujols, Wainwright, Ankiel, Ludwick, Molina, there's also Rasmus, Wallace, Perez, Daryl Jones, Jaime Garcia, Jesse Todd, who will be on the team in the next season or two. That is a strong nucleus of "young" talent.

Half those guys will amount to nothing. Brett Wallace's 200 professional ABs really has you writing him in the lineup for the next 10 years? Daryl Jones? Jesse Todd? If you're only going to worry about what a guy did last season, what's Rasmus doing on there when he sucked out loud last year?

Thank you for beating me to that post.

What new could there be to discuss that hasn't been discussed in the past 160 pages?

Here's an idea then...don't post in this thread if there is nothing to discuss about the topic?

I'm not going to add to the page count by continuing this sidetrack either. Just a request representing the people who don't spend a great deal of time monitoring this website and when they do, they expect to be able to open a thread and read about the topic. Thanks.

sweet...a two page conversation that has nothing to do with the topic. Perhaps if people want to discuss the future of the Reds they could do it in...oh I don't know...another topic??

With all due respect, there are people who can't monitor this website constantly, so when we return to see many new pages added to the "PEAVY" thread one figures there must be news or rumors. To then sift through many many posts of Reds garbage becomes a waste of one's time.

you could save yourself a lot of time and just read the thread title

or like, espn.com

With this logic there should only be one thread that everyone posts everything in. If something is extra important, the thread title could be changed to reflect it at some point later. I really don't mind for the most part but I think it is a little hard to argue that a thread about Peavy shouldn't be about Peavy.

There also has been information about Peavy after page 147 so reading the thread title really doesn't cut it.

Nothing really as "important" as what Levine said though.

This isn't the "complain about what other people post" thread. Please stay on topic.

Well Hendry seems to have maneuvered some payroll space, and if Ricketts wins the bid he might give him a little more. Its quite possible. I have the same feeling that I did through the Robert's ordeal, hopefully this one has a happier ending.

I think the new thread title is pretty misleading. All that was was speculation by that Rozner guy about what might happen. Any of us could do the same stuff. I don't think he said anywhere that he actually heard that the new owner will push for peavy. The article was basically worthless.

It implies that there are reports that the owner wil push for Peavy, which isn't the case at all. This title is about the same saying "Hendry might get Peavy in 2 weeks". It's not false, but it's misleading to put it in the title since there's no actual report or evidence of it. There's no news.

Seriously, read the article. It's all the guys speculation. He never says "I heard from somebody" or "sources tell me". It's just him talking about what he thinks could happen, and now it's suddenly the title of the thread. Really misleading.

At least we haven't started posting pictures of a walrus looking for a buckit.

That would be because I am halfway across the world with a terrible internet connection at the moment.

OK, Time to get back to the toic here.

In all seriousness, if there are any breakthroughs in the Peavy saga, every baseball related news/rumor site will have it posted at the top of the page, and you wont have to worry about sifting the throught the madness is the Peavy Thread II.

And now, back to the Walrus.

Yeah, let's get back to the Reds discussion.
