I like the move, it was evident we needed to add another bullpen arm regardless if Wood left or not. If we can bring wood back we could have a pretty solid 6-9 inning guys with Samardzija, Guzman, Gregg, Marmol and Wood, they could really shorten up games. If Wood isn't back it gives us another guy to probably use in a 7/8th inning by committee with Guzman, Samardzija and Gregg to get to Marmol in the 9th.

Possibly, could also be Ascanio, I highly doubt we gave up Ceda for him. Does Hart get classified as a hard thrower? he could also be the guy.

Yeah he's a solid bullpen arm, but hes another righty and we gave up one of our better prospects for him...who also happens to be a hard throwing righty.

 

The only way I see this trade being made is if its bye bye Woody, which looks to be the case.

What did you expect to get for Kevin Gregg??

 

21 year old reliever who was BA's #4 Cubs prospect last season for a guy we didn't want, was going to get $3-$4 million next year, and coming off of an injury seems like a good deal to me.
