Since there isn't a NFL Week 11 thread.....

Bengals-Eagles game ends in a tie.

LAME

If by lame, you mean awesome, than yes.

Both teams suck.

it actually would have been more fitting if both teams had lost, but unfortunately that isn't an option

Panthers looked like crap for a second straight week (except for another great running performance as both Stewart and Williams went over 100), but again it doesn't matter because of the opponent. This won't fly in Atlanta next week though.

Panthers looked really good, Andy

i know they beat a miserable team by a closer margin than they should have, but they asserted control the entire second half and the Lions had several fortunate breaks in the first half

the Lions loaded up the box and Carolina still ran for 264; that's domination

also, Detroit has zero chance of winning a game this year.

every year the losery teams with nothing to lose start abandoning their gameplan midway through the season adding onside kicks and aggressive playcalls into the mix attempting to sneak out a victory, but Marinelli is just too stubborn with his "pound the rock, defensive execution" ideology to try it. and they are physically outclassed every single game; they're not going to get a gamechanging performance by an underperforming talent.

i'll be taking bets with whoever disagrees.

JUSTIN GAGE TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After trailing 14-3 at halftime, the Titans have stuffed the Jag offense twice and driven right down the field twice. The first TD was a 12-yarder to Brandon Jones and Kerry Collins just now hit Justin Gage for a 56-yard TD!

17-14 Titans

The Jags are now imploding. On the ensuing kickoff after the TD, Bironas' kick went out of bounds. Problem is, the Jag returner let it bounce off his foot and go out of bounds - thus, the Jags have the ball at their own 3.

A lot of people just lost money in that Pit/SD game on that last second TD

and they take it off the board

so we got a 13-13 tie and the first 11-10 game in nfl history, hell of a week

Why did that touchdown get taken off the board? Was it determined that there was a forward lateral somewhere? Because I didn't see one.

The ref claimed there was a forward lateral in there. Interestingly, the head ref (Scott Green) is now admitting he made a mistake.

Green, in a postgame interview with a pool reporter, said that call was errant -- even though his explanation for the confusion was almost as confusing as the play itself.

"We should have let the play go through in the end, yes," Green said. "It was misinterpreted that instead of killing the play, we should have let the play go through."

Green said the confusion occurred because there was a misunderstanding about which lateral was in question.

"The first pass was the one that was illegal, but it only kills the play if it hits the ground," Green said. "That was incorrect to have killed it at that point. The ruling should have let the play go on. That's just the way that it played out. We believe the second pass was legal."

Jim Fassel, for whatever oddball reason, has become very interested in the Raiders' head coaching position.

A team source tells ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that Fassel recently sent a handwritten letter to Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis, expressing his respect and admiration for Davis and his desire to coach the embattled franchise.

I've heard a lot of adjectives used to describe Al Davis over the years, but respected and admired are not two of them.

Crazy, obsessive, loony, overbearing, incoherent, senile, ancient, incompetent, etc, etc. . .

But yeah, never respected and admired. Fassel must be desperate to coach again.

Apparently McNabb didn't know there were ties in the NFL until the last play of OT yesterday as shown by this video:

I was just gonna post that. What a moron. Reid is trying to backpedal on this for the sake of his dumbassed players:

I still don't understand how he could not know this. It's not some obscure rule, like the one fumbled snap that was negated in Philly last year. Everybody knows NFL overtime is 1 15 minute sudden death period.

And apparently he wasn't alone in that either. From the ESPN report:

"Me and Greg Lewis were discussing it on the sideline, so we asked one of our trainers and he told us it ends in a tie," running back Correll Buckhalter said.

"I found out while we were in OT," rookie wideout DeSean Jackson said.

"I thought we kept playing," linebacker Omar Gaither said.

Just wow.

It's truly unbelievable. I guess everyone's to blame. Although in Reid's defense -- I would probably assume my highly paid professionals knew the basic rules of overtime. And, like the website says, I think the ref actually says it during the coin flip for OT. How about listening a little bit?

I challenge anyone to name a coach who is worse than Andy Reid. Watching that guy coach a relatively close game is just painful. It's ming boggling that he still has a head coaching job.
