Not sure if this is new...but they are offering a nights/weekends package that amounts to 63 games good for only the bleachers. Tickets to 2 playoff games per series, but still first dibs on concerts, hockey/football games, etc. The guy said they are hoping to have 4 big concerts at Wrigley this summer with the 100 year commemoration.

That's what I have. First got season tickets last year. And LOL at the "first dibs on concerts" crap. Sure you'll get a pre-sale password but that doesn't mean dick. I got completely shut out on the Pearl Jam pre-sale.

Really?

Seemed like everyone here that wanted them got through. You're the first I remember hearing otherwise from, tho I'm sure there are others.

I got shut out too.

Did you guys (who got shut out) check right away? Just curious.

I think I was 5-10 minutes late. By the time I got in, only random singles were available.

I believe full season ticket holders could get in an hour early and then partial holders could get in. The Cubs ticket guy I talked to yesterday said the 2 day concerts you are guaranteed a ticket to, but the 1 day concert like Pearl Jam is difficult for the partial holders.

That must be the explanation because I was there ready to go when the pre-sale started. I have purchased plenty of concert tickets in my time so I know how the process works.

I got 6 as a partial holder. Could have had 100 level, but refreshed a few too many times. Wound up with 400s

A seat relocation question: has anyone had experience/success with a ticket rep relocating your seats? I'm out of town and my family in the area cannot re-arrange their lives around my seats

I like my seats, they are solid infield reserve perfectly placed with very few obstructions. I'd like to move closer to the field, but want to keep an unobstructed view of the batter, etc. It's a careful balance that anyone who sits for games in the seats will appreciate, but I'm not sure a random ticket agent will.

Anybody go to the relocation the past couple days? I went yesterday, walked around for an hour and a half, and didn't change my seats.

Actually flew in yesterday morning, and back home later in the day. Probably not the most rational decision I've ever made, but it was nice to get away from work for a day and freeze my ass off walking around Wrigley.

Went and upgraded. Had an issue with being in the middle of a row last year (aside from it being a pain to get up and go back) making resale more difficult so I was really focused on getting aisle seats this time.

1 - You couldn't automatically list them on StubHub on the season ticket site because they were in separate "aisles" even though it was the same section and the seats were adjacent (107, 108, 7, 8).

2 - Even when I manually listed them on StubHub or sold them another way, people were freaked out by the fact that they saw two different sections and thought they were separate.

Anyway - view from new seats (these are really owned by the company I work for and not really me):

I had a successful relocation day as well. I wanted to stay in the same price level (Terrace Box Outfield), but move as close to the infield as possible. I picked out new seats that were in Row 3 and almost as close to the infield as you can get, with the only downside being they were 12 seats deep and up against a concourse tunnel, meaning there was only one way out. When I got up to the table to buy the tickets, I found out that they had been tagged inappropriately and weren't available. I was then referred to a manager who was eventually able to find me seats in the same section, Row 2, and on the aisle. That was pretty much the best possible outcome and I expect these to be the seats I will keep long term. I don't think I can do any better without jumping up to the next price level, so I'm extremely satisfied with my row 2 borderline infield seats.

Nice, what section are you in? I am in 202 row 5 and was looking to move closer as well. I wasn't able to find anything better than what I had though, at least in the terrace outfield sections.

Very nice.

I was hoping to find some terrace infield in the first few rows, since that would've actually been a little cheaper than our old outfield field boxes, but there wasn't much.

What I did find was all the way at the end of a row with only one way out (like the ones you saw) and it was a group of 5...one of the seats was pulled out because of some work they were doing around the pole, so it looked like 4. Anyway, you're not supposed to leave one. Not sure what would've happened had I just taken the 4 and left one, but we didn't want to be that far into a row either.

Hi Ryan,

I wanted to reach out to you one last time as we have a few more weeks left in our renewal period and see if your situation has changed or if have had a change of heart. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to get you to renew for at least one more season.

In any case, thank you for everything – we genuinely appreciate all of your time and energy spent supporting our ballclub. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you during the season.

Looks like a lot of people said no when their numbers came up. I think we figured they went through something like 25,000 people last year(though that may have been expanding the base moreso than people not renewing. Wonder how many they gave the call to this year.

you should call them and tell them that every chance to buy season tickets is sacred and then laugh and tell them maybe you'll give it a shot six years from now

Last year I jumped about 31000 on the list.

I signed up for the waitlist on 01/04/2007. I got offered to purchase Season Tickets in 2013. However, it went straight to my Spam Folder.

Hi Omar -

Thank you for contacting the Chicago Cubs and for your interest in our season ticket waiting list.

I’ve located your account and based on your account number (#1167965086655), you were invited to purchase tickets for the 2013 season. You would have been contacted by email.

I’ve spoken with the ticket office regarding your account and they are willing to grant you a one-time, one-year extension. That means that you will be eligible to purchase tickets for the 2014 season and if you choose not to, then you must then reapply for the waiting list, no exceptions. If this is something that you would be interested in, please respond to this email with all of your most up to date contact information (email address, phone number, and mailing address) and I will have a member of our sales development team contact you ASAP. I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great day & Go Cubs!

Stephani

Gonna have to turn it down though. I was hoping it would come up later on in the decade. 2016/2017+

Decided to sign on to the waiting list after reading this (and others). I am 92930 (or so).

What am I looking at 6-7 years?

Does anyone have good experience making money on the tickets? Maybe splitting with someone is necessary?

Any insight would be appreciated. I've only got a few years to figure this out

It all depends on how long the "process" takes. I had initially signed up in late '03/early '04 (I think starting around 39,000) and didn't get the call until last year. If the tickets become popular like they were when they were actually good, you can probably make a minimal profit, but with dynamic pricing, the margin for error is much slimmer.

If this team remains terrible for the next few years, you might be getting the call in 3-4 years.

ETA: Reading the first page tells me it must not have been that early that I signed up, maybe '06? And yes, it's very depressing to read people talking about their spots will never come up short of a plague hitting the city when they're at ~6,000

Same thing here, signed up around the same time hoping I wouldn't come up for another 5ish years, passed on them when I got the offer a month or so ago.

Right out of college (working full time) but need to reach that point of financial stability before enjoying these luxuries. Thanks, student loans.

Is anyone else aiming for Bleacher tickets once you do get the opportunity? I know I am. Best place to sit at Wrigley and more fun than the grand stands. A season ticket in the bleachers runs $3068.80 per seat for the daily plan. Thats $37/ticket over 81 games.
