I signed up for the waitlist on 01/04/2007. I got offered to purchase Season Tickets in 2013. However, it went straight to my Spam Folder.

Hi Omar -

Thank you for contacting the Chicago Cubs and for your interest in our season ticket waiting list.

I’ve located your account and based on your account number (#1167965086655), you were invited to purchase tickets for the 2013 season. You would have been contacted by email.

I’ve spoken with the ticket office regarding your account and they are willing to grant you a one-time, one-year extension. That means that you will be eligible to purchase tickets for the 2014 season and if you choose not to, then you must then reapply for the waiting list, no exceptions. If this is something that you would be interested in, please respond to this email with all of your most up to date contact information (email address, phone number, and mailing address) and I will have a member of our sales development team contact you ASAP. I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great day & Go Cubs!

Stephani

Gonna have to turn it down though. I was hoping it would come up later on in the decade. 2016/2017+

Decided to sign on to the waiting list after reading this (and others). I am 92930 (or so).

What am I looking at 6-7 years?

Does anyone have good experience making money on the tickets? Maybe splitting with someone is necessary?

Any insight would be appreciated. I've only got a few years to figure this out

For real? You do know how bad this team is correct?

Charity-charity-charity.

Selling your tickets is nigh-impossible past the first month or two, so this year we're donating a ton of them and basically writing them off.

Same thing here, signed up around the same time hoping I wouldn't come up for another 5ish years, passed on them when I got the offer a month or so ago.

Right out of college (working full time) but need to reach that point of financial stability before enjoying these luxuries. Thanks, student loans.

Is anyone else aiming for Bleacher tickets once you do get the opportunity? I know I am. Best place to sit at Wrigley and more fun than the grand stands. A season ticket in the bleachers runs $3068.80 per seat for the daily plan. Thats $18/ticket over 162 games.

Two things that blow about the bleachers:

1) If the team is good you have to get there so early

2) It's hot as [expletive] in the summer

My new seats are Section 420, loving the view:

I totally see SSR's reasoning, but I can't agree with the bold at all.

Maybe I'm just a big wet blanket but I find the bleachers totally miserable. The view of the game kinda sucks. You can't really lean back so you're kinda hunched forward uncomfortably the whole game. You have to worry about someone saving your seat when you get up to go the bathroom or buy beer or whatever.

Also, those things just mentioned about the heat and having to get there early.

And I'm all about stupid drunken antics, but the level of such douchebaggery is tenfold there.

I'm not saying there aren't fun aspects of it but the drawbacks are too much for me.

Totally agree. I like doing the bleachers thing once or twice a season, but to have that be your seat option for every game? And even if someone loves the atmosphere I don't know how they could think they're the best seats; you can't see [expletive]. He DID say he's right out of college, so I guess that explains, but the old man side of me thinks that sounds like a nightmare.

Agreed on the bleachers. Fun once in awhile, but you have to either get there early or sit in the CF bleachers. However, if the Cubs were ever in the world series and I was able to get a free ticket anywhere but 100 level or better, I'm choosing bleachers.

Also, there are a ton of douchebags there. I was at an NSBB meetup in 2006 and almost got into a fight for making fun of Dusty Baker, wtf?

From my experience, the best place to sit in the bleachers if you want a good (close) view is either

http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ticketing/seating.jsp

a) The Left Field bleachers - front row --- (Aisle 301) - Instead of a solid railing there's a fence. If you are vertically challenged, this is the bleacher front-row location for you.

b) The Center Field bleachers --- (Aisle 311) - Only place in the park where you can physically see the precise movement+location on pitches without looking at one of Rickett's HDTVs. If you are someone who enjoys that level of detail in baseball, this is the place for you.

And I agree, maybe I'll live out that bleacher dream for a year or 3, and then move onto the grand stands.

Yeah, but I figure you'd have to be there pretty damn early to make sure you get the seats you want.

I believe season ticket holders can use the VIP Bleacher entrance and get in even earlier.

But you still have to be there early as [expletive].

I enjoy batting practice.

You actually get to see the Cubs batting practice.

Didn't you specifically say you were just out of college and working full time? If that is the case, then you should value your time (or quickly learn to value it) and not commit to showing up an hour+ early to every game.

Really not a thing that holds much appeal, especially when you have to be there insanely early to see them before the visiting team. Odds are you're either freezing or baking out there; no thanks.

And then you're captive in the park for a few hours before the game in addition to the actual few hours of the game itself.

I'd rather be at Bernie's or on Southport somewhere.

My brother is able to buy some right now but he has to turn them down because he doesn't want to make the investment. He doesn't even live in Chicago, but wants to move there in 3-4 years time. Was hoping they'd have his number ready by then, not this early. But since they're not that watchable right now he won't be able to justify the investment since he probably won't make a good return on selling them. Back to the end of the line, I suppose.

I plan on bringing the entire family to Chicago for a game this summer (not sure when though), but if any of you season ticket holders have four pretty good seats to unload, let me know.

PM me.

Posted a pic of the location on one of the last couple pages.

I think he mentioned he swapped out for a different location, but N&G's seats last year were pretty sweet. And reasonably priced.
