I took the survey. I don't remember the exact wording, but I definitely did not get the impression that I was making a selection saying that I would rather give them some of my money (and make my renewal decision) sooner. Also, when we are in the playoffs October is going to be expensive enough and now we have to pay our deposit for next year DURING October???

They updated the places on the wait list again. I moved up another 30000 places.

the people that get in this offseason are getting in at the perfect time, i feel like.

i think next year, at the very least, will look promising enough that not many are going to give up their seats. wonder if they'll open up any new areas to season tickets.

My group is definitely upgrading our spots and hopefully going from 2 seats to 4.

Yeah. We're hoping to move up a little closer or at least to the 3B side or home. First few rows of terrace in those locations would be awesome, too, because cheaper.

Are you just going to sell most of your share and fly in for the occasional weekend series?

I'll probably just use 8 or so as part of weekend trips and just leave the rest of mine up to parts of the group that are still local to sell or use. It'll be nice when these things are easier to sell, though the whole donating to charity thing we did this year definitely helped offset a nice chunk of the cost.

My brother had an opportunity to get season tickets two offseasons ago. I told him it'd be worth it in a couple years, but he couldn't justify the price at the time, and I didn't have the money to go half in on it with him. Wish we could've done it. I imagine the season ticket wait will go much slower now.

should've gotten one ticket in a night/weekend package or something (or maybe two to make them more sellable)

I would've liked to have gotten anything, but at the time we were both cash strapped and couldn't even afford that. It was really bad timing :(

Do they recycle your name in the wait list after that or do you need to re-sign up?

Re-sign up, unfortunately. Definitely post games you're looking for next year here; we've got a pretty good pool going of posters here with season tickets.

kinda nuts. makes me think we all probably signed up at the same time. hell, maybe there was a thread about it that got lost in the hacking.

Damn, thanks. I'll sign us up now then, probably not gonna do much good. My brother signed up in the mid 2000's when they were competitive. Took a couple awful seasons to get bumped to the top, probably not gonna happen again for the forseeable future.

Thanks for the heads up! :good:

I've sat all over the place at Wrigley before and actually preferred the bleachers, but for season tickets I'm not sure I'd want to be relegated to that for a full season. They're asking what an ideal location would be, what, in your guys' opinion is best?

Upper Deck - Infield

Upper Deck - Outfield

Lower Bowl - Infield

Lower Bowl - Outfield

I liked the freedom of the bleachers, but if I knew I had the same seats reserved each time that'd be nice, but at the same time would the bleachers move me quicker through the queue?

lower bowl infield followed closely by upper deck infield...in front of the poles in both cases.

i pretty much enjoy everything as long as it's not terrace behind the poles and upper deck behind the poles, though.

gonna sound like a humblebrag type comment, but i really do miss having different views at every game. feels like you start to get too used to the one view after you go to several games and it's not as cool.

I've long felt the best pound-for-pound seats in the park are upper deck box. They're probably pretty cold in the April and September games (I've only ever sat there in the summer), but the sight lines are terrific. And for some reason they're usually pretty cheap on the resell sites.

Where you want to sit has nothing to do with how quickly you move through the queue.

I was just trying to think back over it today; it was my uncle's number that got called a couple years ago and he had signed up a good 15 years before that. Everyone else in the group had signed up around 2003-2004 and I think only one of those has been called.

upper deck stigma

i agree. they are awesome. great bang for your buck in general. that said, all else equal, i'm still taking club infield or w/e.

really the only thing at all i dislike about sitting upper deck infield (which is nitpicking because like i said, i love them) is the walk.

Weird. I definitely signed up in 03-04.

Actually, double checking, it was all of the other three in our group besides my uncle and myself that came up in the last coupe of seasons. I'm positive I signed up as a form of catharsis after the 2003 season, so I don't know why I haven't been called. The first year we had these they actually put the ticket package in my name, so maybe that automatically removed me from the system.

Good to know. Thanks!

Are Upper Deck season tickets also the cheapest? Or are those the bleachers? Sorry for the 20 questions.

EDIT: I am 65,839 on the list. Yay.

For full season? Upper Deck Reserved (back of the upper deck) would be the cheapest. Then bleachers. Then upper deck boxes.
