What are the words to that fight song they play every time something good happens? Can't decipher it.

Feel the heat! RAYS!

Ahhh, thanks. It's actually pretty infectuous.

Get used to this site guys. The Rays will likely win at the very least half of the next 6 AL Championships

Wanna bet?

I would for fun. I can't see how the Rays don't get better with all their minor league talent and likely the ability to spend a little more money to retain their own/improve on their club.

I realize its the AL East, but the Rays have the talent without a doubt.

I wouldn't bet against them making the playoffs more times than not, but to win the pennant 3 times in 6 years is really a really lofty goal to set.

the Rays definately have the talent, but with the way MLB is it's had to imagine any team going to the world series 3 out of 6 years.

The guy I'm happiest for on earth right now is probably Carl Crawford.

More than Rocco Baldelli? How awesome must this be for him? That guy's been to hell and back.

Much as I don't want the Rays' fans to get a World Series when they are old enough to remember there not being a Tampa Bay Rays, it's going to be really hard to not want them to win it all.

I remember thinking this about a certain team in blue and for the NL Championship.

Ok, Shields and Kazmir go down, Price McGhee/Wade Davis take over with Garza.

Ok, Prior and Wood go down, Brownlie, Sisco/Justin Jones take over with Zambrano.

But seriously, they have a good future in a competitive division...they don't have the financial advantage of the Red Sox and Yankees and the Orioles and Red Sox have a nice farm systems to boot.

But stuff happens, it's tough to predict they will win 3 out of 6 pennants.

Rays have the advantage, IMO. They should have the starting pitching advantage, and it's not going to be easy for the Phils to play in that ballpark when they're not used to doing it. It's a very different environment than most parks.

No your right, but they have the talent and obviously they have the confidence to get it done. They don't have whatever infectious postseason disease the Cubs have. The Red Sox can make the World Series next year and have the 3/6 thing going with their super talented team.

TB and Florida have played in 8 total playoff series and are a combine 8-0 in those series. Teams they have beaten in this streak....Braves/Cubs/Red Sox and Yankees...

Sighs

No one is paying any attention to Ernie Johnson whatsoever.

Nor should they. TBS can take their horrible production and shove it for another year.

And the Cubs had Alex Gonzalez, Eric Karros, Corey Patterson(Kenny Lofton), and co. running the offense. The Rays have a solid young offensive core to build on. I know what everyone is saying about the playoffs, and maybe I jumped the gun on 3/6, but what I meant was the Rays are going to turn from "cute story" to boring "consistent" winners in a hurry.

I hope Hendry is watching.

Amateur player scouting and development, you punch-drunk SOB.

Yes, both Boston and Tampa have great amateur scouting and development. I wish the Cubs did.

Heck, the Phillies drafted and developed Hamels, Myers, Madson, Rollins, Utley, Howard and Burrell.

Since Hendry loves to follow trends, I bet he gets Chicago NL franchise a new name and new team colors.

Of course, I am half-joking....maybe

HOLD THE MICROPHONE WITH ONE HAND VERDUCCI

Also, Chip called Boston one of the classiest organizations in baseball? Now I don't know of anything especially unclassy(besides the BS Arroyo trade and Youkilis never shutting the F up), but is there anything that sets them above anyone else

The Chicago Cub Rays. New Colors are Yellow and Pink

or

The Chicago Devil Cubs. New colors are brown and green

No, no, no....Just the drop the name Cubs and go with Chicago Devils would be just a-okay.

if Hendry followed the trend of "signing amazingly awesome players and seeing the team flourish on the backs of said players" then I'm all for it

It didn't look good when Garza gave up a homer to Dustin Pedroia, the second hitter he faced, but it was one of just two hits he allowed. Just like in Game 3, it appeared that manager Joe Maddon stuck with him too long by letting him start the eighth. However, the Red Sox couldn't come up with the big hit in an inning in which they faced an incredible five pitchers and they went down quietly in the ninth. With a 1.38 ERA in the series, Garza deserves MVP honors over B.J. Upton, who was silent tonight. The Phillies will head to St. Pete to begin the World Series on Wednesday, with Cole Hamels and James Shields the probable starters. The conclusion of the ALCS means it will be 11 1/2 months before Chip Caray and Buck Martinez are again required listening, which is great news for us all.

Oh, the hilarity of rotoworld knows no limits.
