NU grad Nick Roach has apparently skipped over Jamar Williams and will get more reps with the defense with Hillenmeyer struggling.

Wow, it seems like only yesterday when my friend and I were saying that we should let Briggs walk because we had Jamar Williams waiting in the wings.

JW and LB play weakside LB, so Roach didnt skip over anyone. HH is just struggling, so roach is being looked at as his replacement on strongside. those two pos really arent as changeable as they first might appear.

The article mentioned that Williams was capable of playing both outside spots, as well, and was rather disappointed with the decision.

JW can play all 3 LB spots.

pick the bears in your suicide pools; the Lions are utterly talentless in every position but WR

Forte probably goes for 150

If you're still alive. I've got a feeling many people are already gone from their pool after such upsets as Phins/Pats.

I think the Lions will score a few points against us. I'd say like 24-17 us, but will be up early and never look back

Brandon Lloyd suffered a "significant knee injury" on Sunday. That's what the Bears are sticking with, though seeing Lloyd's knee "stuff" into the ground makes me think this could be a bad one ... Devin Hester looked fine during the Eagles game and, more importantly, after it

It looked to me like he got hurt breaking the huddle. He seemed to get up fine after the play, but didn't go down until after they went into the huddle for the next play.

I was watching without sound. I just figured it was cramps. I guess I figured wrong.

Mike Hass was signed off the practice squad....bad sign for Lloyd.

That's too bad. Lloyd was someone I was really cheering for. Maybe an Illini homer (I am), but I hope it isn't something that puts him on the shelf for too long.

Hillenmeyer has been absolutely brutal this year and I dont think I want to see him starting ever again

I was seriously hoping this offseason that the Bears would package Hunter for a draft pick (4th round probably at best) and give the job to Jamar Williams. Hillenmeyer wasn't that good last year either. But I thought he could garner some interest because of his speed, ability to play the middle, and his Bears pedigree.

Hillenmeyer had a good sack & a pass defended against the Eagles. Other than that, the only time I remember seeing him is when he's getting beat. I guess that's not totally fair, but I agree with you -- we should be looking to upgrade that position. Why not just put Williams in there, see what he can do? I find it highly unlikely that there would be a dropoff in performance, and a pretty good chance Williams would be better.

Hunter has been the weak link for a while, and I was actually wondering if they'd consider releasing him after Briggs resigned, and going with a cheap kid there.

I hope so. i was never a fan of his.
