It's the picture of the dripping honeycomb on the box that gets you, isn't it?

Corey Graham is awesome. The Bears have a knack for getting guys from UNH (Azumah, Graham). They had David Ball, the all time NCAA receiving leader, last year too before he was cut at the end of the 07 camp.

Those are like 3 of the only 5 players to ever come out on UNH

A couple years ago I would have been freaked out, but I'm feeling like Vasher hasn't been up to his usual standards this year. I don't think Graham will be much of a dropoff, if at all.

If P-Nut can't go though, then I'm worried.

Harris suspended for Sunday's game in Detroit

Chicagobears.com

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Thursday suspended defensive tackle Tommie Harris for Sunday’s road game against the Detroit Lions for breaking an unspecified team rule.

The three-time Pro Bowler will continue rehabbing his knee injury this week at Halas Hall, but he won’t rejoin his teammates on the practice field until next week.

“It’s always disappointing when you have to suspend one of your players, but nothing’s bigger than the team,” Smith said.

Nothing but disappointment from post-contract Tommie.

I wonder what the "team rule" is.

Why do teams suspend their own players?

Very disappointing. I thought Tommie was a classy, team guy. I won't jump to conclusions because I don't know what rule he broke, but its disappointing to hear.

He's been probably the most disappointing person on the team...maybe this will give him time to first heal his injured knee and secondly look like he wants to be there

He likely was going to be inactive, anyways. And it's probably better he doesn't play this week.

Yeah, without knowing what he did, I'm guessing he was out anyway, and so disciplining him probably wasn't as painful as it otherwise might have been.

"Suspending me is not going to help my [personal] problems. You actually just put more on what I'm going through."

Oh geez, the guy is on the verge of falling apart.

I bet he was listening to Dashboard Confessional as he walked out of Halas Hall today

Hub on the SCORE keeps on saying that Harris has a degenerative knee problem and his career could be over. He will never be the same player. Can the Bears get any of his signing bonus back?

Well uh, this game could really suck for us.

Big potential for letdown, with Vasher out, Tillman Questionable, and Harris (although he's been ineffective) out.

Was going to put big money on the Bears, now I'm not so sure. We've got to run up the score and eat up clock so their WRs don't destroy us.

Vasher stinks. Bears could be 4-0 even without Harris. They need Tilman to play though.

I found a bunch of links to a no longer available Sun Times article from 4/9 where they confirmed with Dr Andrews, who has worked on Harris before, that Tommie does NOT have a degenerative knee.

Orthopedic Dr. James Andrews certified to the Bears that DT Tommie Harris does not have a degenerative knee condition.

Andrews performed Harris' arthroscopic surgery roughly three months ago. The Bears, who began long-term contract talks with Harris on Tuesday, should have no misgivings about locking him up for five to six years. Harris, 24, wants to make sure he can hit free agency again around age 30.

Googling "tommie harris degenerative knee" brings up a lot of other fantasy sites quoting the same sun times article.

I'm really not a fan of Hub.

...it should be noted, don't put big money on football games. Talk to a few of the people who put big money on Pats vs. Phins if you'd like to know why. Any given Sunday.

Even with the injuries I still have the Bears pegged to win it. As far as Tommie, you know what we've seen flashes of a good DT but has even come close to being as good as a young Sapp? i don't think so, if anything Harris might be one of the most overrated players.
