Tie game. What in the hell is wrong with Jeff? Also DeRosa's fault big time

Whats wrong with Jeff? He's an inexperienced starting pitcher thrust into a setup role for a contender.

Whose defense failed him.

wait wait wait, didn't you guys decry me when I booed Cedeno on that Kerry Wood blown save, saying it was Wood's fault for allowing the base runners, not Cedeno's for booting the DP ball?

I "decried" you because you couldn't blame anyone besides Cedeno. I explicitly said multiple times that Wood, Cedeno and Edmonds each shared blame for that horrid 9th inning.

This could be a good thing. Every Brewers win probably increases the odds that we don't play Philly in the first round.

Right now though, I'm just worried about or offense.

Durham singles through the hole into right field, Lamb scores.

Man on 1st & 3rd, 2 outs.

3-2 Brewers leading.

How the hell can't the Cubs ever do anything with 2 outs?

Don't they have the best avg with RISP and 2 outs in baseball?

If they do, it doesn't seem like it.

They don't..they're 26th out of 30 in AVG with RISP and 2 outs, whatever value that stat holds for each person.

And chalk me up as one who doesn't believe they were trying to get Harden the win. Instead, I think Lou just loves to have his starters get themselves out of jams when he feels they still have it. If you look at the top 4 starters (Z, Harden, Dempster, Lilly) most of their high pitch outings were because they got into a jam, and Lou allowed them to try to pitch out of it. If that had been the 6th instead of the 5th, Lou would have done the same thing.

I do agree though that especially at this point of the season with Harden, winning this game is a lot less important than the risk of him not being healthy. So I don't agree with Lou, but I doubt it was because he wanted to get Harden the win.

So does every Mets loss.

So do you think Shark is pitching his way out of Lou's postseason thoughts? Just wondering. He hasn't been very good lately. Granted there was an error today but I wondered what everyone thought.

It's quite possible. Bruce Miles alluded to this possibility, I believe.

Maybe we won't clinch at home after all.

That would be really disappointing. I thought I read somewhere awhile back that Ronny wasn't going to go on the trip to New York. I guess because he never wants to set foot in Shea again. But I'd hate for him to miss out on the celebration.
