I understand the thought behind the intentional walk here, but I'm still not sure I like it with Harden not exactly mastering the command today.

Either way, I hope this is Harden's last hitter, and the concept of the pitcher win isn't completely dominating Lou's thoughts.

I really hate it when managers leave a pitcher in too long in the fifth inning just to try to get the pitcher a win.

This is exactly what I've been thinking all inning, and I think it's what kept him from getting the bullpen up after the leadoff walk to the pitcher.

115 pitches to get through 5 innings. That's gotta be one of the most inefficient starts in major league history.

 

Especially considering he gave up only 1 run and 1 hit.
