And the Brewers fans head north on I94 happy, not with the outcome of the game, but with the knowledge that it's only two months until deer hunting season starts and that they will finally be able to use their new custom tailored bright orange hunting vests.

Not quite as good as your previous work.

Just wanted to say...I have a list mentally of games that I think we should have won this year. I realize we win some games that we should have lost and vice versa, every team does. But I can never get over those losses. Here are the 5 I have

1. Soriano's dropped fly ball vs. Pittsburgh

2. Kerry blowing a 4-2 lead against the Brewers

3. Kerry blowing a 4-2 lead against the Cardinals

4. Cubs losing 9-7 in 12 to the Astros after hitting into like 5 DPs

5. Kerry blowing a 3-1 lead against the Reds

Well today's game makes up for number 2 on my list

Where does the 10-9 Rockies game fit in? :)

According to fangraphs, the Cubs odds of winning were 500 to 1 after the 2nd out in the ninth with no one on.

Five hundred to one.

Oh noes, isnt that also our odds to blow the division???

Yeah thats one of the ones I know we got back. I just put more of a direct correlation to this game and the Brewers game in May because it was same team, same venue, same type of victory/loss. In my mind, we are even now for that one.

I think after today, those are the odds to blow the division if the Cubs lose their remaining 12 games.

Pretty sure our odds of losing the divisions are hovering around 1 in 50000.

Interesting how everyone else is going nuts, yet Lee is as calm as ever.

Why? That's how he always is. I would actually find it more interesting if he exploded with emotion. The only time I've really seen him do that was when he went after Young.

***whole bunch of stuff taken from a Brewers board in their moment of grief***

You know what though? Much as I want to have fun with that, it sounds very, very familiar. Can you guess where you could find comments that are almost carbon copies of those?

I honestly thought they were quotes from a 2004 game thread up until I saw Counsell's name.

Jim Edmonds was ejected from Thursday's game in the 11th for arguing balls and strikes.

Ed Rapuano had been ignoring the rules all day and calling pitches 6-9 inches off the plate strikes. It happened to Edmonds twice in a row, and he got fed up with it. While it was a case of bad timing, it's hard to blame Edmonds for being upset about having the bat practically taken out of his hands. Felix Pie replaced him with a 1-2 count and the go-ahead run on in the 11th inning.

HOLY CRAP!!! I thought the Cubs lost today. I turned the game off when they were down in the 9th with one out. I've been out all night and came home. I just found out they won. Wow!!

The Wife isn't talking to me. I'm in for a long weekend.
