What I'm worried about is the fact that Reed has started against righties lately instead of Edmonds.

Either:

1) Lou is punishing Edmonds for sucking hoping to spark him

2) Jim is hurt

3) The Cubs have determined that Edmonds hot streak was a fluke and his skills are diminished

4) Cubs are resting Edmonds as much as possible before the playoffs.

I'll take E) All of the Above

Last night, I'm not really sure why Edmonds didn't start. As for tonight, Reed's 4 for 10 vs. Wellemeyer, and Edmonds is 0 for 7. I remember Reed having a good game against Wellemeyer in St. Louis a couple months ago.

Quit complaining about your lineup, we're starting Aaron soapdropping Miles in left field.

Yeah, he's hitting 3 home runs with 9 RBI

With rain headed toward St. Louis, would anyone else be in favor of skipping Harden tonight and throwing some combination of Guzman/Wells/Smardzija instead? That would give Harden another 3-4 days to rest the shoulder with only a couple starts left prior to the playoffs.

That's not a bad idea. Though, it's not like he would be coming out after a rain delay anyway. I don't think it would be bad to get him some work for 4-5 innings or til it rains.

Not me. Rich Harden hasn't pitched since August 29 or something like 13 days. So no, I prefer that one of the team's co-aces pitches more then once every two weeks. If he is comfortable, and is healthy he should start tonight.

Edit: NM what I just said. I just saw the weather in St. Louis, and I doubt, very doubt the game will get in tonight. But seeing as the first two games in Houston have been postponed, how about playing the last Cards game in St. Louis tomorrow?

ugh this game is gonna get rained out too? son of a bitch.

I don't see how it could. They'd have nowhere to put it as it is.

I would imagine they'll do everything in their power to get an official game in.

Then again, if it's you saying that, that rain must be pretty damn bad.

yeah it's just a big-ass slug of rain headed that way. i guess it should be running into drier air in the ohio valley, so maybe the rain will become light enough to play through. doesn't look promising though.

What do you think the odds of getting it in are?

Get it in and make it Wrigley slightly SW again.

I get up, and nothing gets me down.

You got it tough. I've seen the toughest soul around.

And I know, baby, just how you feel.

You've got to roll with the punches to get to what's real

Oh can't you see me standing here,

I've got my back against the record machine

I ain't the worst that you've seen.

Oh can't you see what I mean ?

Might as well jump. Jump !

Might as well jump.

Go ahead, jump. Jump !

Go ahead, jump.

Aaa-ohh Hey you ! Who said that ?

Baby how you been ?

You say you don't know, you won't know

until we begin.

Well can't you see me standing here,

I've got my back against the record machine

I ain't the worst that you've seen.

Oh can't you see what I mean ?

Might as well jump. Jump!

Go ahead, jump.

Might as well jump. Jump!

Go ahead, jump. Jump!

Might as well jump. Jump!

Go ahead, jump.

Get it and jump. Jump!

Go ahead, jump

Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!
