Anyone who is interested in the snoozefest that is Michigan/Notre Dame needs to have themselves examined.

Have they ever played this game when both teams are not ranked or did that happen last year?

Michigan was not ranked last year at this time. That team was at least good though.

This is the worst ND/UM game i can think of.

Big game this week for the Badgers, traveling out west to play under the lights at #21 Fresno State. I'm thrilled that it's on the deuce.

Let's win this game the only way we know how: get physical at the lines.

F'em Bucky.

I really like this game, do you guys play OSU this year?

We got quite a stretch to start the Big Ten Schedule. 9/27 at Michigan, 10/4 vs OSU, 10/11 vs PSU, 10/18 at Iowa, and 10/25 vs ILL. Lucky to have OSU, PSU, and IL all at home.

And I'll be at Camp Randall every time.

I'm thrilled that I will be at this game! Go Dogs!

I'll have family there but can't make it myself. I'm expecting a tooth and nail game, although I'd personally love a blow out (for the Badgers, of course)

Yeah, it's entirely possible Michigan loses at least 5 games in Big Ten play this year. I can't recall a UM team looking this mediocre.

I want to say it has happened a couple of other times. Last year obviously neither team was ranked because they both came in 0-2.

Those calling this the worst ND/UM game must have short memories, because not only were the two teams looking worse entering the game last year than this year, but it wasn't even a close game as Michigan destroyed us 38-0 in the most humiliatingly lopsided loss in recent ND football history. It's the only game I have ever given up on watching before the first half was even over.

I definitely don't see a blowout by either side. I don't know how long you've been a Wisconsin fan, but Fresno State and Wisconsin played each other in 2001 and 2002 at Camp Randall, with Fresno winning in 2001 (a game I had the pleasure of attending) and Wisconsin barely winning in 2002. This Fresno team is better overall than either one of those two teams... although the same can be said for Wisconsin, so this should be a great matchup. All I know is we have to stop Hill and then take it from there.

Michigans offense isnt in the league of what they had last year. The collection of players on that team compared to this team isnt even close. This year is so much worse for UM, ND might not be as bad but probably not that good. Michigans defense is solid but man that offense makes the game ugly. NDs offense is probably better. At least after last years game you could say there was a good team on the field. After the final whistle you will be hard pressed to say one of these teams are good.

Michigan wasn't nearly as good as ND made them look last year. But their offense had some talent and loads of experience. Now Michigan has almost the same level of inexperience ND's offense had last year and less talent at the skill positions. This game has the potential to be absolutely brutal. As an ND fan, I don't think it will be that bad, but that's more rose-colored glasses of hopefulness than the result of any kind of analysis.

The thing I'm most worried about is ND's inability to run the ball consistently last week. If they couldn't do it against San Diego State's patchwork d-line, I hesitate to think how they can do it against Michigan. I think they can pass it (I think 4th-quarter Jimmy is a lot closer to what we'll get this year than first-3-quarters Jimmy), but if we can't run it then we won't get in the end zone.

I guess I have a different perspective than you guys saying this UM/ND game will be horrible. I think it has a chance to be absolutely transcendent comedy. I can't wait for reaction shots of Dick Rod and Front Butt on the sidelines.

The first half of the SDSU/ND game was wildly entertaining so I should enjoy this one.

If you read, I said I expect a tooth and nail game, although I would love a blowout.

Been a Wisconsin fan my whole life. My two favorite Wisconsin games I've been at: When Brees set the NCAA record with 83 passing attempts in one game only to throw pick 6 to Jamar Fletcher in late in the 4th and sat 6th row for the Badgers ending OSU's 19 game winning streak in 2003 and rushing the field.

I think you guys are being a little too harsh on OSU. I understand they looked bad last week, but I think they'll bounce back nicely. Beanie is fine, and the egg they laid against Ohio is just more motivation.

I think I might be rooting for OSU. I can't really see USC losing another game. OSU still has @ Wisconsin, vs. PSU, and @ Illinois.

Do you really want to increase the chances that OSU ends up in the title game again? Because they would be considered a big favorite to do it if they beat USC.

I've gone back and forth on this. I'm trying to figure out the best situation in case Mizzou ends up with a shot for the National Title game.

That FSU game back in 2003 was pretty bad at that time as well. 37-0, IIRC. One of the few highlights of the Chris Rix era.

I'm rooting for OSU in a lesser of two evils type of thing.

I'm rooting for the Coliseum grass.

OSU. Big Ten love.

Brings up the age old question: Do you root for people in your conference/division when they are playing other conferences/divisions?

OSU wins, sets up a potentially huge date in Madison on 10/4.

No and I've never really understood this. I get the strength of schedule argument, but if you really loathe a team, I can't imagine routing for them in any game.
