I thought USC was going to win and probably easily. But even without Beanie, I didn't think they would win by 32 points.

If OSU goes 11-1 I hope that they don't use the Wells didn't play card on why they lost 1 game.

Vance...LSU has a lot of talent but they have to play somebody out of conference.

I know it's a bitter point for you, but in the mindset of most of the decision makers at LSU, they want the revenue from the home games regardless of who they play. They know they already have tough games due to the conference games. This year they travel to Auburn and Florida and play Georgia and Bama at home. You may disagree, but those four games right there make for a tougher schedule than many other teams. Last year, they did play Virginia Tech out of conference.

LSU knows that if they win the SEC, they're in. They would prefer to play more games at home for revenue purposes and then that limits what teams they can play.

Like it or not, with the SEC schedule that LSU plays, they aren't inclined to add any more games that could trap them.

It's not going to matter anyways. They will lose a couple of games this year.

That's why I was really hoping USC didn't win a close one because then OSU could have played the "if we had Beanie" card. But no one player can make up a 32 point difference in a football game.

exactly. OSU's O-Line got blown up. Beanie wouldn't have been much of a threat

I half expected ND to get some undeserved votes, but they only got 4. Ball State got 1. They got 5 and 2 respectively in the coaches' poll.

I've never been that wet in my life, but I've also never had more fun at a Northwestern game before.

Even though you guys smoked us (nice coaching Lennon), it was still a pretty fun time. We were sitting with the SIU section for the first quarter and a half until the rain really started to come down, so we moved to the Northwestern side under that canopy deal or whatever you call it to remain dry for the rest of the game. Then after halftime, the NU band came and moved up right next to us. That was rather..interesting.

We were able to move the ball through the air because it was evident that Northwestern was aiming to stop Warner (who had a sick TD run). But for whatever reason, we decided to not throw the ball and we just played an extremely stupid game on offense. Our defense did all right, especially against the run. They were just always on the field because of our pathetic playcalling yesterday. That's got to change if we're going to want to do anything in the I-AA ranks this year, especially with facing the #2 and #1 teams respectively in I-AA for our next two games.

I found out that the one writer who voted Ball State 25th is a writer for my local (Raleigh, NC) newspaper. He publishes his vote in the paper this week. His newcomers this week were Nebraska (24th) and Ball State (25th).
