Missed the first 7 innings due to work....anyone have a clip of Edmonds waving to LaRussa after his first HR? They don't show it on mlb.com

Wait, he really did that? I didn't see the game. I'll check it out on mlb.tv later when it's archived.

I didnt see a wave, but he did flip the bat in their direction

Definitely gave an extended look to their dugout as well. So awesome!

where da videos?

Today' game was really the only type of game the Cardinals could win vs. the Cubs, crappy pitcher - Looper - check, Cubs offense under performs against said crappy pitcher - check yet, they didn't win! You've gotta like the Cubs chances Saturday and Sunday.

Jim Edmonds since All Star Break

.323 .432 .742 1.174 OPS! HAHAHA

Weak.

His platoon partner has a 1.346 OPS in five more AB's since the All-Star Break.

according to Mike Claiborne of KTRS:

When FSN's Brent Stover and Claiborne (KTRS) approached Edmonds after the game for a quickie on-field interview that has become standard procedure for MLB rights holders, Edmonds blew them off and said:

"I'm (censored) done with St. Louis TV and radio and I'm (censored) done with the Cardinals."

And then he walked into the Cubs dugout.

Freaking awesome. At this point, I'm a fan of the guy. Completely and honestly. Attaboy, Jimmy.

What's the real history between the rift between Jim and the Cardinals? Is it just that they "gave up" on him?

I don't want to judge it because I don't know all the details, but it seems a bit harsh to me to be flipping the bat in LaRussa's face and then even going so far as cursing at the St. Louis media. What did they ever do to him?

The best part of today's game: watching Roast throw out a shirtless, drunk Cardinal's fan from the game.

anyone w/ vid of the curtain call?

If you go to Cubs.com and click on any of the video links, then click on the one for Edmonds' second homer (not the big day one, the one with just the second homer) it has the curtain call at the end.

Basically said cardinals fan was turning around and jawing back and forth with a couple of cubs fans. It was civil and just friendly banter at first, but it was pretty easy to tell it was going to turn fairly quickly. So I warned both parties just to make sure and keep it civil. Well about an inning later i hear the cardinals fan swearing over towards other fans. So I talk to the usher in the area and sure enough he's been going way over the line. I told the Cards fan he could not swear at other patrons, he began swearing at me. I told him to come with me to talk to a supervisor - he refused. I called my supervisor over, who asked him to leave. He still refused. Supervisor warned him that his refusal to leave private property was trespassing and he would be arrested, so he finally stood up and we escorted him out.

fun times in wrigleyville.

Can you kick at the Cardinals so the Cubs win by forfeit?

Also, Edmonds blowing off Cardinals FSN is. Love me some Jimmy Ballgame.

With me being forced to record this game the Cubs in the last two seasons have been 5-0 when I am forced to miss a game and record it, and they have been some good games.

1. The Aramis walk-off game against Milwaukee last year (which I saved on DVD)

2. A game last year against the Giants against Tim Lincecum when the Cubs came back to win it in the 8th.

3. The last game of the season last year when Hill took a no-hitter kind of far into the game (why can't he come back like this)

4. The throwback game with Reed Johnson's walk-off HBP

5. Todays game.

So out of those five, three were walk-off wins, and one was a nice come from behind win...Maybe I should miss games more often.
