seriously, TLR is really a hack..I had to listen to a bunch of crap of a Cards fan today at work on how great Larussa is...

He gets strategy happy a lot, I'll admit. But he has a good team year in and year own when conventional wisdom says he shouldn't. I don't like the guy much, but a "hack" is overstating it.

The reason for that is Duncan.

God dammit hit the ball of this ---SOAPDROPPING--- clown.

Duncan has done wonders with that bullpen. And I don't know how he's managed to have the 8th best offense in the majors...he's a miracle worker.... ;)

Look at what he has done with that starting rotation

That's all well and good...and I'm not saying Duncan has done a bad job at all. But to give him all the credit is missing the big picture.

No, you are right. It is Tony's ability to have every minor leaguer come up and rake. Why don't other managers do that?

Wait, so you're telling me the Cubs score more runs in wins than they do in losses? Shocking, I tell you.

The Cubs are 12-8 since the All-Star Break. That is what's important.

I'm not giving Tony full credit either. I'm not sure why everyone can't have some credit here...but whatever. Tony has his strengths...Tony has his flaws...but overall I'd say he's a pretty damn good manager.

Some credit would be fine, he doesn't just get some credit.

Really? Dave Duncan and Walt Jocketty (when he was there) sure got a lot of credit. Pujols sure gets a lot of love. I think there's plenty of "credit" to go around...and Tony gets his share.

Yup but there are several ways you can analyze how they are losing. They have been slightly inconsistent offensively.
