Game over.

???? Espn just said that they will be back to the game when it resumes...

Len just broke in on WCIU and said the game has been cancelled. It's official, so we lost.

I don't understand why the storm is going to be through soon, unless Lou just said screw it.

and Krod blows the save.

It's a crappy game, but the Cubs will still take the series, comfortably.

We should win the series but we should've won tonight. We should get a chance in the bottom half of the inning I think that is the dumbest slkfjaljd rule ever in baseball.

I'm not worry about it. With the way the Cubs starters have pitched recently, the next 2 games the Cubs should win easily. (That is if the Cubs offense decides to actually show up, and not mail it in)

Ouch...my fantasy pitching line tonight

16.1 INN, 29 HA, 5 BBI, 12 K, 15 ER, 8.265 ERA, 2.082 WHIP, L

I had Garza, Joba, KRod, and Perkins tonight...

The Astros didn't score in the 8th, so their extra AB didn't make a difference.

And does anybody know any interesting facts about Fernando Tatis?

Other than the fact that his best offensive years - IRONICALLY - came with the Cards in 98 and 99.

hit two grand slams in one inning.

This game sucks, the Astros suck

All we gained from the delay was a 2 inning usage of Gaudin, wonderful. I hope the Astros rot in hell, they are seriously picking something up on us and it bothers me they have our number

Raul Ibanez trying to hit two grand slams in the same inning.

He didn't do it, but he did get two more RBI.

Has a player ever hit two grand slams in the same inning before?

Fernando Tatis a few years ago for the Cards.

Against Chan Ho Park. I was at that game.

Didn't Bill Mueller do it against the Rangers in like...2006 or so?

EDIT: Wait.....I think that mighta been a home run from both sides of the plate in the same inning.

Don't worry about tonight, cause the next two are going to be Cubs victories. Cause Houston won't touch Harden, and Marquis will be less crappy then Backe.

LOL..shut down by a mediocre pitcher/no-name for the 2nd time in four days.

This guy has had our number all season, I don't know what it is

Thank God the Astros wont be in the playoffs, Moehler is for sure the last pitcher I want to see

Caught the very end of the ESPN replay when I got home from work and the couple shots they showed of the lightning were pretty cool. They also showed Reed pointing and laughing at Berkman.

I don't understand why this game isn't going to be continued today. I thought there was a rule that said it had to be if the home team was still batting or something like that. I remember a game in against Pittsburg early last year where a similar situation presented itself and the game was continued the next day at noon.

Forget what I said in the beginning of this thread, the Astros just have our number this year. If we win 1 of the next 2 I'll be happy.

Cubs, it's Brian effin' Mohler. Stop making him look like Rich Harden!

This is the 3rd time we've been shutout since the ASB. Frustrating.

In the particular game you mentioned, the Cubs took the lead in the top of the inning before the rain came. So it was unfair that the Cubs could take the lead in the top of a particular inning and the home team didn't get a chance to match that. That's why the rules call for that game to be resumed at a later time.

In this situation, the Astros top of the 8th didn't matter. It didn't change the game in any way. So it was simply erased from existence, and the game was called after 7 innings.

The only times that a game will be resumed later is if either 1) it is after the 5th inning and tied when the rain comes or 2) the visiting team either ties the game or takes the lead in the top of the inning, and the inning isn't finished before the rain comes.

That makes sense now, thanks.

And I thought Berkman was scared of the storm.
