Not to get off the subject of Rich Hill turning the corner, here, but I've yet to see an actual balls/strikes breakdown of Hill's most recent start.

I know he had a good K-BB, but do we know how the actual ratio in terms of pitches? I believe he also had a wild pitch, although that doesn't necessarily mean much.

It's exteremly tough to find that kind of data at rookie league games - MiLB.com lists it in their box scores for AAA and there are announcers and many fans at games at other levels who could keep track of that but that doesn't happen in the AZL. That info would have to come from the coaching staff, probably into a local Chicago rag's story on Hill.

Or maybe AZPhil at the Cub Reporter could provide it, had he taken note of it. AZ Phil does a pretty good job reporting on such things.

How do you know that?

i'm assuming he can count.

Have there been previous instances in which AZPhil has provided pitch counts? Was Vance there to validate the accuracy of the pitch counts?

It just seems like an odd thing to say someone is good at.

Good point. Although, I don't trust Vance's advanced math skills either. Anyone know a good CPA in AZ that could pop in and count pitches in Rich's next start? If so, please have them submit a resume with no fewer than 3 references.

You(r post) is a really big douchebag.

Hopefully that counts as attacking the post and not the poster.

It shouldn't.

Or how about referring to Rich Hill as "Hill" and Rich Harden as "Harden?"

There's been some discussion of the possibility of a September return for the Brewers' Gallardo, what of Rich Hill? If he's going to make it back, September may just about right.

Sun-Times:

Left-hander Rich Hill, who has been working on his command issues in Arizona, is scheduled for one more start for Rookie-A Mesa before an expected move back to Class AAA Iowa or another minor-league affiliate, Hendry said.

Hill should be starting tomorrow at Mesa.

Awesome.... a good start there and he goes up to AAA.... Wonder how many starts it would take him there to move up to the 5 spot of our rotation...

Personally, I'd like to see 4 or so good starts at AAA before bringing him back up to the majors. The last thing they want is for him to not be quite ready and then have to send him back down or whatever. If he comes up, it better be for good.
