wait that can't be right

gamecast says we have 17 LOB, how is that possible

I haven't paid close enough attn to the game to know if that's accurate, but if, say, 2 guys are on with no out, and then 3 guys strike out, for instance, that's 6 LOB.

I'm so glad the Cubs are rumored to be after a top of the rotation starter, because we can't have Lilly in the playoffs as our number 2 stater again. What if he pitches at Wrigley with the wind blowing out?

Well, to be honest, I really don't see Lilly being #2 in the playoffs even if we didn't acquire another starter.

I still see your point, though.

I'm still holding out hope to end the season with a rotation of Zambrano, Sabathia, Hill, Dempster, Lilly.

That means thats the cumulative. Say Patterson and Theriots gets on base with 1 out. Lee gets out, thats 2 LOB. Then Ramirez gets out, its considered 4 LOB. Get it?

Gotta look at team LOB, which is 9.

I don't have much, if any, faith that Rich Hill will figure out a damn thing this year.

He's done for 2008, IMO.

Because thru 5 innings we've sent 31 batters to the plate and only scored 7 runs. 31 batters minus 7 runs= 24 minus 15 = 9.

So that can't be right. Maybe that's combined for all of the guys and is therefore counting guys twicw?

hahaha good for fresno state, gotta love the underdogs

was pulling for UC-Irvine earlier, but they blew like a 6 run lead in the 9th to qualify for the CWS and broke my heart

Georgia with men on 1st and 2nd with nobody out and FSU changing pitchers.

By the way, their starter threw about 120 pitches and that was the 2nd or 3rd time he'd done that this year.

Just substitute Marshall for Hill, he's a lefty too, has pretty much the same pitches and is younger!

I hate hearing it, but you may be right. FTH Hill how dare you let us down?
