Now we've even got the same score as Game 6. Lovely.

No Soriano, Zambrano possibly hurt, overuse catching up to Marmol.

The 100-win talk should probably be over.

Dude - seriously. Relax.

Why? Things are looking much worse than they did not too long ago. I'm not saying we're going to fall apart and miss the playoffs or anything. But this no longer looks like a potential 100-win season.

Even 100-win teams lose 3 straight. Relax...We'll be fine.

I'm not worried about the three straight losses. The first two were fluky, one-run, couldve-gone-either-way games.

I'm worried because we still can't hit outside Wrigley, and I'm worried because Piniella's inability to properly manage a pitching staff is catching up with us and several of our pitchers are showing signs of damage from idiotic use.

A couple one-run losses before the blowout don't worry me. But there are legit reasons to worry.

At least we didn't lose any ground on the Cardinals and we did lose to the team with the second best home record in baseball....Thank goodness that we have the best mark at home in the game...we're going to need some home cookin' this weekend...

GO CUBS!

you know what? this is good. this hasn't happened to the Cubs in a really long time. get this out of our system and get ready for the Sox

that's just silly-talk. I'm all on board for moving on and not freaking out about tonight, but the better reasons are that we're still a good time, in first place, with plenty of time in the season. Not the get-it-out-of-their-system stuff...

my tongue was partially in cheek with that statement

and I've been around you long enough to be pretty sure of that :)

But sometimes my attack-the-cliche mode can't be repressed so well. :)

Even if we don't win this game, I'd sure like to see our hitters come out now and give an effort to get on base and at least try. I'll be pissed if we pull a Laker's and just give up.

Man, and off of our two best relievers besides Wood this season, too.

It's very striking how rusty Marmol has been this year after getting more than one game off. Broken record, I know.

We looked fine coming out of the Blue Jays series...don't you think?

If it makes anyone feel better. Cincy, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, soon to be Houston, San Diego, Washington, Toronto and potentially Cleveland have all been swept this week.

Cubs are coming off a series where they scored 6 and 7 runs off of the best pitching staff by the numbers. Bad series happen. Did everyone forget Pittsburgh or something? I was at prom and I was still pissed that night. But shizzle like this happens in baseball. The cards got swept by the ROYALS!

How bout I just pass thee weed around and we're all good?

Yeah, at least we weren't swept by, I don't know, Kansas City. That would really suck.

GO CUBS!

I stated last week that the Cubs need to pull their heads out of their asses on the road or they're going to be in some big trouble.

Posted
Well that could certainly have gone better...Let's hope they are pissed coming back in town to face the Sox, because I sure am...

I really hope, offensively, they UNLOAD on the White Sox. I mean, nobody on their pitching staff should get off with a decent performance. I know it's doubtful, but a weekend worth of games in which the Cubs beat the Sox 10-1, 12-0, 8-0, would cure alot of ills for the Cubs, and us fans.

And what sucks for us, is that the Cubs won't get another chance at those punks, for what a couple of yrs. That sucks.

Can anyone remember the last time we've been blown out? It stings because it's been a while. The first two games could've gone either way and they didn't. It's not like we are playing the Royals. We just got beat by a good team. It happens!!!

Wow, Kyle, I thought you were the one telling everyone to keep the faith when they were awful last year because their numbers said they weren't. Does one bad outing by the bullpen really change that much? This was bound to happen at some point.
