You gotta love all the brooms there. Too bad no one cared for this team the past few years. I don't get how you can have a big league team in town and not supoort it.

I guarantee you we won't get swept...but we could easily lose the series.

Which would sadden me on the basis of the Cubs losing and the most obnoxious fanbase in baseball being permitted to shout and crow. Both are terrible thoughts.

While I am in no way, or do I support fair weather fandom, I can understand it in this case. Its a team that came into existnce 10 short years ago, and aside from sighing a few washed up big names such as Wade Boggs, Jose Canseco and Fred McGriff, to try and fill the seats, they never relly tried to put a real team together, meanwhile, the team that came into existance the same year won a World Series almost got to another.

I go to as many Royals games as I can. It is major league baseball.

I worry that the good old home cooking is going to get turned on its ear this weekend and the Cubs lose/get swept.

And we can just as easily win the series. Funny how this game works.

The Royals have been around since the '60s. Im asuming you grew up around them, maybe witnessed George Bret, Bret Saberhagen, Bo Jackson, and to a lesser extent Kevin Seitzer. Most Rays fans are older than the team. All they've had to this point is Aubrey Huff and broken down old Rocco Baldelli. Those that were true baseball fans must have had a team when The Devil Rays came around, somthey werent really going to switch over just because some new team sprang into existance. it takes time to build a fan base.

You assumed wrong. I grew up in Peoria, Illinois. I love baseball, I made the drive to Wichita, 3 hours, monthly to watch the minor leagues.

Vitamin D deficiency caused by too much indoor baseball ... give the boys some cold milk on the plane and green grass at Wrigley, they'll be good as new.

I thought having Marmol start the 7th was a mistake, I would have gone with Erye in 7th, Marmol in 8th and Wood in the 9th.

it really didn't matter, neither eyre nor marmol had it tonight, and the cubs were blowing that game no matter what.

I liked the Rays before this series. Now I hate their fans, their dump ballpark, their stupid uniforms, and their bullpen full of castoffs. This place can go to hell.

Let's go get the Sox.

Anyone know how many LOB Lee and Aram had this series?

too many.

That of course, was the big reason Tampoon Bay whoops Tampa Bay swept, if I were the opposition I wouldn't count on Lee and Aram being that bad again.

to be fair, most of their fans are just fans of other teams who are now too senile to remember who they used to root for, so they latch onto the local club.

nice performance by gallagher tonight, despite the no-decision. he has been solid in his work with the big club so far; let's hope that we get to see more of this in the next few years.

I'd be surprised if Percival doesn't implode on them at some point this season.

SIGH.

Well, hopefully this lights a fire for them to beat the holy hell out of the White Sox.

I want three big blowouts. I know it's not likely, but with the way the series went in TB, that how I am feeling.

Here's to downing two buds, then a couple of shots of Jack tonight.
