Wow - how cool - the worst relief pitching performance I've ever seen in my lifetime.

Which one, the guy who couldn't come close to the plate or the guy that is giving up the cycle to the 1st 4 hitters he's facing?

Overall - not sure I remember a worse overall relief performance ever

Now we've even got the same score as Game 6. Lovely.

No Soriano, Zambrano possibly hurt, overuse catching up to Marmol.

The 100-win talk should probably be over.

Dude - seriously. Relax.

Why? Things are looking much worse than they did not too long ago. I'm not saying we're going to fall apart and miss the playoffs or anything. But this no longer looks like a potential 100-win season.

Once the MRI comes back and Z is out for a while, then is it ok to get a little nervous?

Good performance for Eyre, 0.1 IP 2 ER, 4 H, 4 XBH, 3 inherited runners score, 1 hard hit sac fly that could have easily been a double.

While is not looking good at the moment, if the Cubs play this team again in October it'll be a much different story but, chances are this won't happen-Tampa Bay won't even make the playoffs.

you know what? this is good. this hasn't happened to the Cubs in a really long time. get this out of our system and get ready for the Sox

that's just silly-talk. I'm all on board for moving on and not freaking out about tonight, but the better reasons are that we're still a good time, in first place, with plenty of time in the season. Not the get-it-out-of-their-system stuff...

Even 100-win teams lose 3 straight. Relax...We'll be fine.

OK, this sucks and all, but can we stop posting the picture of the coil of ****? That's soapdropping disgusting.

It gets a little frustrating to see this stuff coming and know that you are right, but that it doesn't matter.

"Hey guys, we should be worried about Wood and Prior's arms. Baker's an idiot for flogging their arms like this."

"Shut up, it's a pennant race and we're winning! Baker is awesome"....

"Hey guys, we should be worried about Marmol. Overuses like this could likely lead to a loss of effectiveness..."

Yeah his situation is EXACTLY the same as Wood and Prior.

It's not the same other than that I, and many other intelligent fans, called it, only to be told to shut up and stop worrying by homers who love to defend anything this stupid organization does stupidly.

It'd be nice if we could be the Cardinals and somehow magically never pay for the stupid things we do, but we're not. We're the Cubs, and we always pay.

Yeah you're an intelligent fan and we're all homers who defend everything. Truffle, TT, myself and others fit that description perfectly. Seriously you're being absurd and making a fool of yourself.

And the Cardinals magically never pay for anything stupid. That's intelligent.

Well that could certainly have gone better...Let's hope they are pissed coming back in town to face the Sox, because I sure am...

Do they still play the blues in Chicago

When baseball season rolls around?

When the snow melts away,

do the Cubbies still play

in their ivy-covered burial ground?

When I was a boy they were my pride and joy

but now they only bring fatigue

To the home of the brave,

the land of the free,

and the doormats of the National League

my tongue was partially in cheek with that statement

Honestly? It doesn't make me half as ill as the Cubs have this inning.
