Iowa has offered Marcus Jordan. Stanford has also offered.

We'll be at the bottom of the league next year but I'm not as close to the cliff as I was two days ago. We look to be in pretty good shape to land Malcolm Armstead who was likely to beat Peterson for the PG spot next year. The problem is that Pete would have been a very good backup PG and now we have none.

Davis and Palmer weren't getting minutes and were both seniors next year. Jake is the killer and what sets us back a year.

We'll see if they can land the recruits to get the ship headed in the right direction.

A collection from UK's Rivals Website:

Wasn't "off court issues". Lets say, "in the locker room issues". This includes but is not limited to BCG trying to kick Jodie Meeks off the team in the locker room in South Bend on Wednesday night. Terrible scene in there. Told Jodie to not come out. Assistants had to convince Jodie to play in the second half. This was not an isolated incident either...

Adding to my original statement.

BCG came in the locker room and accused Jodie of being the most "selfish" player he's ever been around. He then told him he was "done" and was not going to play for UK again. He actually told him to not come out in the second half. He went as far as to have somebody to stay in the locker room and not let him return. An assistant went back in at the end of halftime and had him come back out.

He was back on the floor to start the second half...

---------

I talked to Meeks high school coach at the UGA game.

This was right after the 54-point game against UT.

He told me that Meeks had already started inquiries for transfer and got talked out of it.

---------

Miller gets mild concussion at practice in Tampa (SEC-T). On the team bus going back to the hotel, BCG calls Miller out as a "[expletive]", makes the driver stop the bus, and tells Miller he is going to walk back to the hotel. Miller is upset, and five of his teammates come to his defense telling BCG that if Miller walks, they walk. Miller ends up staying on the bus.

Also there was an incident that happened with Stevenson & Miller before they left for Tampa... They were both told they were not going to be making the trip and to not get on the bus (for practice issues). An assistant had to step in and get them on the bus. Meeks, Patterson, Harrellson, Stevenson, & Stewart would not have been back if BG was going to be back... That is why this happened and why you heard Mitch reference the student athlete experience being a good one at UK.

---------

I heard a variation of this Miller story from a very reliable source that is connected to UK and is a UK alum. I know he would not make it up.

The way I got it was that it happened at practice in Lexington just before the SECT. They were practicing taking the charge, and Miller got run over and bumped his head real hard on the floor. He shook it off and resumed practice, and his head began to hurt. He told Billy Clyde that his head was hurting and that he needed to come out.

Billy Clyde blew up and called him a puzzy and told him that if he was hurt that he was not making the trip to Tampa. The team left without Miller. Miller called his mother and was crying about what had happened. Darius's mom was with PP's mom, and PP's mom called MB and told him what had happened. He said I already know and that someone was already on the way to re-connect Miller to the team.

-----

Now that Gillispie has been fired, I will post my conversation with Jodie's Dad. Mr and Mrs Meeks are nothing but pure class BTW.

I talked to Mr Meeks in the Tampa airport and told him that "We'll be fine next year as long as Jodie and Pat come back." He told me that coach needed to make a few changes in order for Jodie to come back. He told me that he felt like coach benched Jodie in the USC game because UK had started the POY campaign.

All in all, BCG was not a favorite of the Meeks's.

---

Legion may have left because BCG slept with his girlfriend

I heard that from one of Patterson's high school teammates.

----

The story about him forcing a player to stand in a bathroom stall during halftime is also true

----

I can personally verify the BCG drinking/girls stories....He once invited my girlfriend, my roomates' girlfriend, and some of their sorority sisters back to his house...and some of their sorority sisters went

----

I had the luxury of sitting directly behind the bench for the Auburn game this year, I mean no one between us and the players. BG is not the only one that treats the players like total crap. Liggins got pulled after being put in for one play and showed frustration while walking to the bench and Cryespin comes over and screams at Liggins to "stop being a GD Pu$$y". It was uncomfortable for the entire section behind us and Liggins acted like he was just done with all of the coaches as well as AJ. These kids dont deserve to be embarassed like that, and it sounds like this is very small compared to what was going on behind closed doors.

Haha, Meeks takes THREE SHOTS in the first half in South Bend and gets benched but he's called selfish other times?

This guy's a complete nutcase.

I've heard rumblings of a lot of those things that Hosak mentioned (esp. the girlfriend and locker room bits) on UCLA and Arizona message boards.

I read that Kentucky is not planning to pay Gillespie the $6 million buyout his agreement calls for. That might provide some credibility to the rumors. If there wasn't something fishy going on with him and they were just firing him because of not winning enough I think they'd be obligated to pay the buyout.

I've read that he never actually signed a formal contract with Kentucky (refused to, some say), so wouldn't that mean he's not legally entitled to anything?

I read that too, but my understanding of law is that an oral agreement is just as binding as a written one, just not as easy to enforce because there's nothing to document it.

Seth Curry (Stephen's bro) is transferring to Duke. Should be a good fit.

I posted this in the NCAA tourney thread, too. This was probably a more relevant place, though.

Seth Curry decided to transfer to Duke!!! I played him in high school, too.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=4026095

Assuming Harrison Barnes signs with Duke (likely), the 2010 team shapes up to be very good for Duke, after a down year next year. If Singler stays, it will be that much better.

PG Nolan Smith---Tyler Thornton (#54 Player, #14 PG)

SG Elliot Williams---Seth Curry---Andre Dawkins (#34 Player, #11 SG)

SF Harrison Barnes (#4 Player, #1 SF)---Andre Dawkins (#34 Player, #11 SG)

PF Kyle Singler---Josh Hairston (#14 Player, #6 PF)---Ryan Kelly

C Mason Plumlee---Miles Plumlee

We also might pick up Brandon Knight, the #1 or #2 overall player in that class to play point. Obviously we won't keep Singler and pick up Knight and Barnes. But if even two of those happen, Duke should be a top 5 team.

Next year will probably be a little rough, though.

Without knowing who'd be with Duke I could have told you their 2010 team looked to be very good. ;)

I don't think Barnes is a done deal quite yet.

He's going to Iowa

to visit his parents every once in a while, while he plays for a good school

what, he might leave early to play in poland?

he won't have a good NBA career, but that doesn't stop players from leaving early.

i just don't think singler will be able to fool people into believing he'll be a decent nba player, a la mike dunleavy

do any of those players have athletic ability?

Williams had that crazy and-1 dunk against Villanova, it's safe to say he has some ability.

Is the Barnes family still confirming the check from KU is good?
