Michigan is ranked in the AP! Woo #24!

This just adds to the negativity that will surround their eventual collapse in Big 10 play.

It seems like so long ago since Michigan was in the top #25. :good:

They're not going to collapse. Give them a chance.

ND creams Savannah State 81-49. Luke with 23 and 13. I'm glad we're done with the parade of cupcakes - the next game is Big East play at DePaul on New Year's Eve (I expect the DePaul fans on here to call them a part of the parade of cupcakes, but they play us tough all the time, especially in Rosemont).

ND will win by 30+. Harangody might seriously get tired of scoring if Koshwal gets into any kind of foul trouble. DePaul can be decent and they've been getting the ball inside to Koshwal lately (especially in the Win vs. St. Louis last night), but ND is too tough.

DePaul's best chance is to turn it into a track meet, but I honestly don't think Wainwright is smart enough to realize that they should do that. He values not turning the ball over, despite not actually running an offense. It's weird. In his 4 years as coach, their TO rate has been in the top 40 in the country despite having an overall piss poor offensive output.

I cant let this go without mentioning it.....NORTHEASTERN!

It wasn't even an upset either. It was one of the two games against small conference teams that IU fans thought they had a good chance of losing (they managed to survive Cornell).

IU is probably going to win their last non-conference game, but I have a tough time seeing them winning a single conference game with the huge gap between them and everyone else in the conference. Odds are on their side that they'll win at least one game over the 18-game schedule, but they certainly won't be favored to win any.

Yeah. I see them winning 1, maybe 2 conference games. But I can't point to any game and say that's a winnable game. IU will most likely just get lucky a time or two and have a hot 3 point shooting night while the other team is cold and squeak out an upset.

Here's a nice preview of Braggin' Rights(with the half foot of snow in Chicago I might get to see it!). The site used for those graphs, statsheet.com, is pretty nice.

good preview

I liked this: Bubba Chisholm 0.92 0.55 0.7 PPG, 1 Walk-on, 1 great name

I still think they beat Iowa at home. The fans are gonna rush the court and mob Tijan Jobe. Then they'll take away his scholarship.

Well me and my buddy tried to make it to St. Louis but we spun out and ended up in a ditch on I-39. At that point I decided we were pressing our luck and we retraced our 60 miles back home. Crappy day but still looking forward to watching the game in good health.

The last time Missouri was in the NCAA tournament was 2003. Leo Lyons was starting his 5th year of eligibility at the time. They lost to Dwayne Wade. At the postgame presser Tom Crean mentioned he was not interested in the Missouri job. Nobody else was either. Edited by SouthSideRyan

Missouri is ranked for the first time since January of 2004. They finished that year 16-14 with a loss to Michigan in the Michigan invitational(NIT) They lost to Illinois that year too.

Last night's game was easily the most depressing of the season. I'm not stunned they lost -- a win likely would've meant they won every game they should have, which was too much to ask (I am assuming a win v. Lipscomb). Northeastern, like Cornell and TCU, was a game that was likely to be a near tossup.

I expected two or three Big Ten wins, but with the resurgence of the conference and last night's display I'm hopingfor two. There isn't a game I expect to win, per se, but I do expect to, at minimum, win a game. As for what you said, I hope the former happens but the later doesn't.

I think Northeastern is the best of those 3 teams. I'm kicking myself cause I've been betting against Indiana in every game on centsports, and didn't do it this time, cause I got burned on TCU and thought they'd win this one.

I assume you misspoke on the former/latter part or do you see something in Tijan Jobe that I don't.

And thanks for taking it in stride.

Having now watched all three play in person, Northeastern is definitely the best of the three.

I see nothing in Jobe. He won't be a factor next year. That said, I don't want them to take his scholarship away. A bit draconian for my tastes.
