Drew Gordon is probably going to be a very good player, but man that haircut is ridiculous.

I don't care what his hair is like if he's going to block shots like that.

SIU is just not good enough yet to keep up with the big boys, our front court is useless.

You play like 4 frosh. These games are only going to make you better. I would want no part of you come March.

I agree, that's why I said "yet". Many players missing defensive assignments including seniors, but that will be corrected throughout the year. Screw March, I would avoid us in 3 years. If our bigs learn to defend and box out, it's going to be a fun year, if not......

I loathe Bobby Knight, but the man is so nice to listen to. It's too bad in a half hour he will be replaced by the Duke cheerleader.

Agreed. I'm surprised.

I had to have last night's game on mute. Vitale is unbearable.

Holy crap, nice run by Drago and DC!!!! About time, Darren.

Vitale takes away from the game at this point, which is too bad bacause at one point he could call a game. Now he has turned into a schill and caracture of himself. I honestly get so mad at him now when he is trying to give props to the little schools. When the hell does he have time to watch any of them? Afterall he has to do every single Duke

or UNC game there is.

Jrue Holiday is more creative than Collison, he finds better looks for his teammates. This is why he really should handle the ball way more.

The last few minutes have me smiling.

Ugh. Hope Aboya isn't hurt too bad.

Wow, that has got to hurt for the SIU player (Evans).

incessant shameful talk about Mizzou.

I think that's what's really being lost here. Any discussion of Mizzou is shameful.

It's technically hate week right now, I don't want to have to go to the football thread and ask you whether you're going to make the Insight Bowl or not.

Back to back bowls, baby!

Disappointing, but expected. Good luck to UCLA the rest of the way, hope the big guy is healthy.

Good luck to the Salukis too...

You promised me you wouldn't be a .500 team this year.

LA Daily News[/url]"]Rivalry renewed

An agreement is close to being completed for UCLA and Kansas, two of the most successful programs in college basketball history, to play in each of the next two seasons as part of the Pac-10/Big 12 challenge, sources said.

The programs have combined for 16 national titles (11 by UCLA), and they last met in the 2007 NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight, with the Bruins winning 68-55.

Counting mythical titles, huh?

Notre Dame with a much-less-than-impressive 65-54 win over Loyola Marymount, who was horrible last season. A road win is a road win, and Luke Harangody had 27 and 17, but playing like that again, even against IU, could spell major trouble. Kyle McAlarney went scoreless for what I'm sure is the first time since at least his freshman year and possibly ever.

To show you how unimpressive that win is, UC Davis beat LMU 64-55.

ND is probably the best matchup in the top 15 for IU. ND does have a huge front court advantage with about 60 points from 4 guys over 6'7". IU has 3 players even over 6'7", and two are walk-ons. One is maybe the worst player I've ever seen. Harangody/Pritchard matchup will be fun, as Harangody is probably what Pritchard has to strive for in his college career. McAlarney hasn't been shooting well and IU can maybe get away w/ some zone and helping out on Harangody. IU has had trouble protecting the ball, when not in the hands of their primary ball handlers. ND only forced 11 TOs vs. Loyola. IU also has a couple guys who can knock down the 3, ND allowed 8-18 from 3 to Loyola (12-42 from 2pt range). But the difference in this game will be IUs lack of post defense and defensive rebounding. IU allowed 27 offensive boards in the opener, but did improve vs. IUPUI. They have also allowed over 40% of the opponents points to be scored in the paint and will be facing a dominant front court. These last points will likely be the difference. I don't expect a win, but hopefully, both teams will play defensively like they did their last time out. I would be very satisfied if IU keeps the game w/i single digits most of the way.

Oklahoma is being pushed by Gardner-Webb, but it looks like the Sooners will win up 5 with about 19 seconds left. The Sooners have not shot well at all today.

That's awesome. PLaying in the b12N, it's critical we beef up our OOC schedule.

Griffin is putting up video game numbers. After his 35/21 today he's up to 26.0 PPG and 19.75 RPG.

Yeah, that's my attitude towards these games as well.

Plus Carlton Fay has been absolutely amazing so far to start the season. But Tony Boyle does indeed suck. Like illiniguy said though, I think these games will only help us in a pretty weak MVC this year.

5 assists too, and he hit another 3pointer
