I wouldn't bank on Michigan losing Thursday.

Somebodies pessimistic after that first game.

Nah, young team on the road for the first time and Beilein's system has given UCLA fits each of the last three years. If Holiday or Lee can lock up Manny Harris like Westbrook did last year, the Bruins should be fine.

If Michigan stays within 20 I consider it a success.

A better UCLA team last year was losing with less than 8 minutes in the second half and only beat Michigan by 15.

The flukiest fluke that ever fluked. The year before a worse UCLA team than last years (or equal) killed a better Michigan team than last years by 37 in Ann Arbor

Beilein wasn't in Michigan then, he was owning UCLA at West Virginia instead. Seriously, his system confounds UCLA teams.

xavier henry and memphis.

Not really a suprise. All me buddies here new this was coming. Wanted to play with his brother. They are still hoping for Wall.

Yeah, kind of a bummer. Hopefully KU can snag Wall and/or Cheek.

Michigan's no damn good, don't worry about it.

Well, we'll see how worried I should be about Beilein.

Mike Moser, formerly an Arizona 2009 commit, will decide on Wednesday. Since he decommitted, he's visited UCLA, USC, Oregon State AND Washington on the same day. Apparently Washington and Oregon are out and Oregon State is a distant third to UCLA and USC. :?

Mizzou used a big second half to throttle Chattanooga 103-75(to compare, Tennessee beat Chattanooga 114-75). First big test of the year coming up with a trip to Puerto Rico. They'll play Xavier, and potentially Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, Memphis, or USC.

A fair point, but system or not, WVU had more talent than Michigan does, and UCLA is a different team than previous year.

I think that Xavier game will be a good test of where we are as a team.

We better not lose to Mizzou.

Funny, for once I'm thinking the same thing about Illinois this year.

You guys really shoulda done it last year. We couldn't break the press whenever it was on, shoulda 94 feet of helled us out of the arena.

The Athena 5 was too busy mean-muggin' to play serious basketball.

I said last year it would probably be our last chance to beat you. I'm changing that to this year now. We're definitely going to keep improving, but we don't have nearly the class that you do coming in over the next couple of years.

We should get a good idea of where Illinois is when they play at Vandy this week, then at Kent State next week. I like Illinois' schedule this year. They scheduled a lot of decent to good teams (Vandy, Georgia, Kent State, Clemson, Mizzou), but nobody that they know is going to blow them out of the stadium (well, until conference play). At least this way they have a decent shot in every non-con game.

Beat Kent St., and we'll probably get A&M in there as well.

Mizzou will go as far as their newcomers will take them. If 2 of their guards are having a strong shooting/offensive day, they can beat Illinois. That game will be the first hostile-type environment for all the freshmen, so they could also make a bunch of dumb mistakes and push a winnable game out of reach.

Iowa played well in the first half and had a 40-28 lead at halftime against UT-San Antonio. Then UTSA pressed the hell out of us, we started turning it over like mad and had to hit all of our free throws to win by 5. Lickliter said they simply hadn't really prepared for a 2-2-1 yet.

At The Citadel on Thursday night and home vs. Oakland on Sunday. Could lose either of them.

I know no one but me cares, but my Tar Heels play Kentucky tonight, and while UK's clearly not the team they have been in the past, it's still a game people get pumped about. And with Hansbrough out, the chance for Kentucky to pull the upset is definitely there.

That being said, there is no way UNC loses to UK

I would say if they feed Patterson the ball relentlessly, they might have a chance

They're not playing VMI, I'm pretty sure UNC can limit Patterson some.

ESPN generally sucks as we all know, but this College Hoops Marathon thing is great. I worked from home today and got to watch basketball all day--well, except when they put a Kansas vs. Iowa Women's game on. That sucked. But, other than that, it was cool. Eating breakfast while watching Drexel vs. Penn >>>>>> being at the office.

Can IUPUI beat Indiana?

Anybody can beat Indiana this year. They are another mid-major team right now. Pretty good talent, but at the same time with severe deficiencies in size and not many unbelievable athletes.

Don't get me wrong-I expect IU to beat most of the small schools on their schedule. But any of these schools can beat Indiana because IU can't dominate the paint like a normal major school can do.
