A better question would be how Cardinals fans will react when he goes back to St. Louis.

he'll be booed because he's on the Cubs now plus he said some negative things when they traded him

I remember when John Mabry first returned... he got a standing O. John Mabry. Edmonds will be cheered pretty loudly.

It is crazy how obsessed they are with us there. I went to my first Cardinals game last year, and they had on shirts of like why the bleachers in STL are better then Chicago. And when a ball was hit into the crowd some people were going to throw it back, and everyone like booed them, and told them we aren't in Chicago. The whole time all they talked about was what the Cubs score was. That is the night we faced Lincecum and he rolled through eight, then we ended up getting I think four in the ninth to beat the Giants. But the whole game they only talked about how San Fran was beating us. God, I wish I would have been around them when we came back won. The atmosphere there is pretty good, and the stadium is pretty nice. But to be a brand new ball park there bathroom situation is a joke. I feel like they only have 3 or 4 mens bathrooms in the whole place. I literally missed an entire inning trying to find a bathroom to go to, and there wasn't even a line for it.

I don't get this. Where and why did this start?

I know I am stubborn. I know I am pigheaded, I know I am an idiot.....but I still can't accept Edmonds.

Everytime I see him do something(like hit the 3 run homer yesterday) all I can do is frown, bite my lip and clench my fist like Jerry Seinfeld. Except instead of saying "Newman", I am saying "......Edmonds"

So Taguchi got a standing ovation last week when he returned with the Phillies.

I think it started with Cardinals fans thinking they were the best fans in baseball because they all wore red and gave standing ovations for sacrifice bunts. After a while, other people started to believe it.

No kidding; it's a tired cliche, IMO

I've really been impressed with Edmonds. I'm going to predict that he sticks with the team the rest of the year (including the post season).

Yeah although Edmonds has played well, I think He's gonna go into a massive slump and I predict that come September, Edmonds will be gone. What does everybody else think? Does Edmonds continue to be with the team throughout the rest of the year?

I think that he's played well enough that I really don't see him being cut.

i had computer trouble so i barely picked up pat and ron on the radio. did i hear right, jim went 2-2 with a home run, 3 rbi and 3 bb?

if that's the case, then i have only two words for that: jungle karma. it never fails. edmonds was on today at the start of the second hour.

Anyone going out of their way to "hate" him is just being ridiculous at this point.

Him rediscovering some of his power has definitely helped lessen the blow of missing Sori's bat.

No, he was "only" 1 for 2, with a home run, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, and 3 walks.

I don't see what the big deal is. Its a division rivalry, where one team's success directly affects the other. Its nothing like the White Sox and Cubs, where there are only 6 games a year that actually matter to the other team. The Cardinals are 4 games away from potentially keeping us out of the playoffs. Why is it such a big deal that people talk about the Cardinals?

Jim Edmonds has gone from being released in May to a potential National League Player of the Month in June. The Cubs center fielder is hitting .352 (19-for-54) in June with five doubles, five homers, 18 RBIs a .438 on-base percentage and a .759 slugging percentage.

Well, he did fail to advance on Fontenot's deep fly.
