Well since Rob is MIA, I decided to take it upon myself to start this one and I figure since I am 2-0 anyway, the mojo hopefully won't be thrown off.

This happy chap:

Cubs, please win today because you face Halladay tomorrow

P.S. I don't know why the Jays start their games at :07, kinda weird

Just like the roadtrip through SD/LA, I hope and expect the Cubs to go atleast 3-3 on this roadtrip through Toronto and TB. I know it will be tougher, but with the way Cubs have played, it wouldn't surprise me.

Burnett has some strange numbers this year. He has an ERA of 9 at home, and under 3 on the road. And it's not like he's facing a bunch of patsy lineups on the road either. His road starts have come against the Yankees, Boston, Cleveland, Philly, Oakland, Texas, and the Angels. He hasn't faced a lineup nearly as good as the Cubs one (even without Soriano) in any of his home games. I'd expect Lou to get a lot of LH bats in for this series. Burnett is a guy Hoffpauir could have success against. In fact, Lou would be wise to get Hoff in the lineup all 3 games, because all 3 Jays pitchers have had trouble with LH hitters at times.

On the other side, Gallagher has had a lot of trouble with LHs too, to the tune of .100 BA points, and nearly .250 OPS points higher. Luckily for him, the LHs for the Jays are pretty bad. Probably see Stairs, Inglett, Wilkerson and Overbay all in the lineup, but the highest OPS among these lefties is Inglett's .785 in 71 ABs. His SLG is the highest also of that group, at .423 and he has a grand total of 0 HRs. All pieces should be in place for Sean to have a successful outing, unless he walks people...and the Jays are pretty patient.

I'd expect to see Reed Johnson in there tonight vs. his former team, and because of his LF defense is a decent sized park. Hoffpauir should be in the lineup, as well as Edmonds. Be the perfect night to move Fukudome up in the order.

SS- Theriot

RF- Fukudome

1B- Lee

3B- Ramirez

C- Soto

CF- Edmonds

2B- Derosa

DH- Hoffpauir

LF- Johnson

I'm feeling strangely optimistic about this trip. The Rays have faltered a bit, so that might make playing them a bit easier. I'm hoping for a 4-2 roadtrip.

Lou may want to get that extra lefty in the lineup and move Derosa to LF and start Fontenot.

Oddly, one badger to another, same thought but different order. Lou won't shake up the order that much, IMO.

Cubs go this way:

Theriot, SS

Hoffpauir, 1B

Lee, DH

Ramirez, 3B

Fukudome, RF

Soto, C

Edmonds, CF

DeRosa, 2B

Patterson, LF

Thanks Bruce. I figured Lee would DH, forgot about it in my 1st post. Hoffpauir is ok in the 2-hole. Would rather see Kosuke there, but I expect Micah to have a pretty good series.

i can see what lou is doing though...

if he didn't have theriot batting leadoff he would of needed to put him 9th...

this way hoff could potentially have 2 guys on base...and then it is mashers row after that...

i actually really like the lineup

I thought I heard somewhere that Lou didn't want to tinker with Theriot, and that he wanted to leave Theriot at #2?

Me too. That's why I had him in the 2 hole in my guess lineup

I like it, I just don't love it.

My natural bias against Theriot makes me want to slide him somewhere around 7 or 8, but if Fuku must bat fifth, this lineup is balls.

Wasn't there some talk about Gallagher skipping a start along with Marquis? Would that be his next scheduled start?
