We lost ... all thanks to a fat ump.

Didnt get to watch the whole game. What happened with the ump?

He was too fat to move himself out of the way of an Edmonds liner. Men were on 1st and 2nd, so instead of a run scoring on a line drive, we got bases loaded. EPatt singled later on in the inning, which would have scored the tying run.

No he wouldn't have. It would have been 1st and 2nd for Patterson on the single.

You know who cost us this game?

Jason Freaking Marquis! He gave up three runs in five innings, which isn't good, and he could have given up a lot more with all the baserunners he allowed. Some nice defensive plays saved him.

Oh wait, that was Gallagher pitching. Great game for the youngster, really showed his promise!

:rotfl: but wait, Gallagher is inexperienced and contractually poor and what not.... :-k

I agree. Well lets go get 'em tommorow with Marquis. I hope we get the Sunday Night Marquis not the other one.. :?

I wasnt able to watch the game, but from what I can piece together, it wasnt a fun one. Oh well, if you have to lose a close one, its best to do it on a day when one of your rivals gets blown out and the other absolutely annihalated.

Still. a 4.5 game lead and 20 games over .500 would have been sweet.

Holliday is tough, but beatable, especially with an offensively inferior team.

I wish the Blue Jays would start the Rockies LFer tomorrow, instead of Roy Halladay.

Logic says the Cubs should lose tomorrow, but the funny feeling in the pitch of my stomach, says Jason Marquis will outpitch Halladay.

The more you mention the reverse jinx, the higher the chances that it doesn't come though. :|
