Meh.

Division's not gonna change any. Amazing how little one loss rankles me, the way the team's playing overall.

Oh well, I blame Rob for not showing up

We'll be lucky to take one of 3.

If the Cubs win tomorrow with Marquis facing Halladay, I'll believe they've got a shot at the WS.

It is only June, but this is a tough trip.

You know who cost us this game?

Jason Freaking Marquis! He gave up three runs in five innings, which isn't good, and he could have given up a lot more with all the baserunners he allowed. Some nice defensive plays saved him.

Oh wait, that was Gallagher pitching. Great game for the youngster, really showed his promise!

Again, I contend that if that ball doesn't hit the ump, its headed straight into the gap between the OFs and I believe 2 runs score to tie it.

Aramis Ramirez has had an incredible approach at the plate all year, I can't get mad at him because he fouled off a pitch that's in the seats in most stadiums. To do so seems pretty absurd.

At least the Brewers are gonna lose.

We lost ... all thanks to a fat ump.

Didnt get to watch the whole game. What happened with the ump?

He was too fat to move himself out of the way of an Edmonds liner. Men were on 1st and 2nd, so instead of a run scoring on a line drive, we got bases loaded. EPatt singled later on in the inning, which would have scored the tying run.

Anything is possible tomorrow. Remember when the Cubs lost to Sean Estes but then knocked around Jake Peavy the next day? Granted it was Marquis facing Estes and Lilly against Peavy, but the point still stands.

I don't get why people keep saying this, unless you're assuming Soto would have gone to third.

That's the assumption. I didn't see the play, but on turf some believe that ball goes to the wall.

If Theriot doesn't make another senseless out on the basepaths, and if Theriot doesn't lamely ground into a DP with the bases loaded in the 6th...we win.

Look at how that ball deflected. The ball was going to split the OFs. Maybe it wasn't hit hard enough to score two like I said above. Maybe it was. At the very least, Soto would have gotten to third easily and it would have been 1st and 3rd 0 outs with the score 3-2

The Marquis/Oswalt game would be a better example, but this is clearly a better team at Wrigley. Please let the NL win the all-star game.

IDK why, and I know all logic points to tomorrow being a loss with Marquis going, but something tells me, Marquis is going to get the win tomorrow against Halladay. I can't explain it, but tomorrow, even with Marquis on the mound, I believe the Cubs are going to win. It could be the fact that the Cubs have roughed up some of the game's best picthers (Oswalt/Peavy/Haren). I can't explain, but the Cubs will somehow beat Halladay tomorrow.

a hit up the middle hit the 2b ump, players were limited to 1 base. The guy on second eventually scored, the guy on first didn't.
