I dont want to watch a game in black and white or crappy camera angles.

There is nothing remotely interesting about it.

I am annoyed. There is a reason we have HDTV and a reason I have the MLB package with a 57 inch widescreen HDTV..

 

completely and utterly pissed regardless if for two innings.

Maybe, just maybe you may now appreciate the stories the old timers tell about the first time they saw Wrigley field and how green it was too them. You then can smile when they smile, I know the first time I saw it live, not on WGN and in black and white, I was in awe.

 

And yes, I like it today much better

Exactly. I loved it. I knew today was throwback day, but I didn't know the first couple innings would be in black and white. That was a fun surprise.

I can't say I liked it, but I'm happy they did that. It really made me appreciate what those people with early TV sets had to do in order to keep up with the game. Myself? I probably would have stuck to the radio in those days and create my own pictures instead, because I felt the camera angles were very distracting.

Man, I just went through it looking for photos of the old timey innings and the first 25 pages or so are killer. If there's ever a thread HOF here, that's up near the top.

And Len's home run call was awesome. I thought he did a great job of imitating Brickhouse, especially considering the magnitude of the homer.

Glad you all had fun. Today was miserable in the bleachers. The Uni's were cool as hell though.
