They are saying that he shouldn't cheer when the team he plays for wins games? I don't get it. I hope people realize that rivalries mean almost nothing to the actual players.

Also, just knowing Edmonds' personality the little that I do, I don't think he really cares all that much what casual fans think of him. The die hard Cardinals fans are smart enough to realize why he is acting the way he is..

Yea that was an extreme viewpoint, but hilarious none the less. I agree, I dont think Edmonds gives 2 craps what the fans think of him.

The 14 year old boy inside of me laughed at the cubs.com headline.

Feels like an off day with no new game thread. What's the deal?

yeah. I really don't want to ruin the mojo we've got going, but where is Rob already? Might have to have someone step in and do a spot start.

The last time the Cubs were 19 games over .500 was Sept. 28, 2004.

No. How dare you remind me of the end of that season.

I didn't see anyone mention it, but for the record: Aramis should have been called out when he made contact with Quade. Don't tweak out, I'm a life-long cubs fan, but that should have been the ruling. The 3B umpire missed that one.

Since I just finished reading a baseball book, I noticed this too. We got a break.

It's one of those rulings that is technically correct, but most of the time it happens the umpire won't call it. It's evolved into one of those advantage calls..if the umpire felt that Quade gave him an advantage, he would have called him out.
