You know, Edmonds is making it really hard to hate him, which is kind of unsettling. It was just one of those given things in life, like death, taxes, and hating Jim Edmonds. I'm going to have to get used to not loathing the very sight of him. He's at least earned that after today.

A walk-off beaning ... now I've seen everything :D

Todd Walker vs. the Sox a few years ago. It was too complete the sweep as well.

Yep. Sunday night ESPN game and it was a pitchers duel between Rusch and Buehrle

This must be really frustrating for the Cardinals and their fans as well. We complain a lot about them winning (and for good reason) but it must be just as hard for them.

I find it amusing that you think any of us can summon any sympathy for their team

Reminder they won the world series 2 years ago with an 83 win team

Yeah it was. I remember because it was a walk off walk by Walker.

What a game. Amazing, just amazing.

I'm in love with this team.

I agree. Zambrano wasn't his best, but he still kept us in the game, and our bullpen was amazing. Great win by the Cubs.

I think that if Lilly could settle down and be consistant and we get another decent starter, this team is unstoppable.

Also loved the amazing game thread, with the attempted 40s lingo, bitching about Lou, and debate about RISP/2 outs. Excellent. been loving NSBB ever since I joined.

A lot of the lingo was all over the world and timeline. We had people trying to talk in 40s, 60s, 1500s, pirate speak, medieval, Australian slang, and British dialect.

Definitely one of the best game threads in NSBB history. :D

That was a walk, not a HBP.

Oooh, good call.

Pretty much the same thing in my eyes I guess.

I remember that game very clearly. Wasn't it raining hard, Sosa hit a HR, and made a great catch to end the threat in the 8th?

I was listening to it on the radio before a fireworks show since it was on the Fourth of July.

That was a fun one to listen to at work. Can't wait to check out the highlights.

And for all the moaning about the black and white with the old camera angles, I think it was a pretty cool idea (only because they kept the HD).

Does anyone have the call from Len with the Edmonds home run?

the Pat and Ron call was better. Soto drove one to the warning track, only to be followed by Edmonds. I thought the game was over. i heard it at a stop light and damn near got into an accident. i recorded this game on DVD because of the throwback. little did I know this might be a defining moment...

Check the baseball discussions board for the home run.

Damn work. I had to go to work before "The Edmonds" moment happen. Bloody hell. Oh wait, I got it on DVR.....

With that said, has Jim Edmonds officially became a Cub yet? Personally, his homerun in the ninth, has officially made him a Cub now.

I know this is really late, but we really need to give it up to the bullpen. If they hadn't seen as solid as they were, we wouldn't have been able to win this game.
