Well, here we go. Time to pick it up in the absence of Soriano and keep ahead of those pesky, injury-ridden-but-still-managing-to-win-somehow Cardinals.

Tough match-up today. Gotta bad feeling about this one. Cubs lose 3-1.

Well I am going to the game today...

Record at games this year: 2-3

Record not at games this year: 26-5

Sorry guys, I won a contest at work and will be in the rooftops. Maybe not being physically in Wrigley will help.

Let's hope so, but just in case, any chance you can be convinced to sit w/ your back towards the field of play? Of course you'd be allowed the use of a small (black & white, 13") TV.....

Hopefully, this turns out to be a great day. I have the day off. I just woke up an hour ago. I'm watching Tom and Jerry while eating my Cheerios. I get to watch the Cubs today and then I have a sailboat regatta tonight if it doesn't rain. It's a good day.

The game should be a treat for TV viewers, who can watch the first two innings in black and white with fewer camera angles. The telecast will try to go without a center-field camera and use basic graphics at the start, and then add a camera or another technical advancement as the game progresses. Commentators Len Kasper and Bob Brenly will don appropriate 1948 garb in the booth.

Should be interesting. Toronto series doesn't look good on paper but I think we can get atleast one and hopefully 2. Marquis v. Hallladay - :-&

Are hoffpauir and patterson going to be in chicago for this one?

Was Patterson called up? I hadn't heard.

The hoffpauir thread in transactions said ESPN1000 was reporting epatt up as well.

You're right, I was just coming back here to post that I just read he is, in fact, up and leading off today.

What is it?

Gallagher vs. Burnett

Marquis vs. Halladay

Lilly vs. Litsch

Ughhhh....

The second game of the TB series looks awesome though:

Zambrano vs. Kazmir

Don't go writing the Toronto series off as a disaster yet. Who knows? Maybe Marquis can pull another good game out of his butt.

Sure didn't. That's a good question though, as both Patterson and DeRosa are in the lineup.

I'm Guessing this lineup:

2B Patterson

LF DeRosa (since he did so well hitting second a few games ago)

1B Lee

3B Ramirez

RF Fukudome

C Soto

CF Edmonds

SS Theriot

P Zambrano

Why wouldn't Lou put Theriot in his normal number 2 spot?
