Just thought this was interesting. Real record deviation from Pythagorean record:

Cubs +0

Cardinals -3

Brewers -2

Astros -2

Pirates -1

Reds +0

Shouldn't that be +3 (for the Cards at least)? I remember looking earlier today and seeing that they had outperformed their pythag.

We're all going to blame him when we don't win the WS.

I thought it meant the Cubs were going to die this year. Of course, they weren't born in 1908, though.

Sorry, that list is completely backwards. All the minuses should be pluses.

My guess is that Bennett will be on a 75 pitch limit, so the Cubs really need to be patient and get into that bullpen early once again. Even though the Braves have 8 relievers at full strength, Bennett is 1 of those, so they're down to 7. Soriano is iffy on if he can even pitch out of the bullpen with his injury. Carlyle and Acosta both threw over 40 pitches each last night. So if the Cubs can chase Bennett after 4 or 5, it could really help them both tonight and tomorrow.

I'm optimistic about this game. No reason we shouldn't win.

One thing about this team this year is that they're beating teams they ought to beat. That's the sign of a truly good team.

Now playing the part of Albert Pujols.....Jason LaRue.

The Reds pitching is disgusting. Walk, walk, homer. Walk, homer....5-0 Cardinals in the first.

And I got beat..badly. Oh well.

Well, I'll point out my utterly useless fact. I think it's interesting that the Braves bat their OF's 6/7/8 in the order. It shows you they've had a lot of trouble picking up bats in places where they should be getting better production from.

Cubs are 1-0 when I start game threads, Cubs are 2-0 when I'm too sick to actually watch more than about 10 mins of the ballgame.

LOL, Sutcliffe was talking about the Cubs on the ESPN broadcast and was talking about Dempster and he goes, "He's on the mound for us tonight" and the other guy gave him a little look. Not that it makes a difference but its still funny.
Posted
I wonder if Sutcliffe will sound drunk again tonight like he did on the last Cubs game he broadcasted. At least he's not stuck with Chris Berman. I swear, if I hear the name Boomer one more time, I'm going to punch something.

There's only 1 Boomer and he was a left-handed QB for the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets.
