I realized how huge Petco Park was a couple days ago while playing a video game.

I was playing MLB 2k8 versus my brother, who was the Tigers. I was the Padres, and we played at Petco. I won 17 to 9, because we had something like 5 triples and 3 inside-the-parkers. The outfield is so freakin huge...

Man, I want to party with you.

June gloom is in full force for tonight. The air is very heavy with moisture, so runs will be very scarce tonight.

I won't have a problem with hit and runs or sacrifices tonight. Anything to get an advantage on the dynamics of tonight's game.

I always thought "Marine Layer" was a regional term for a South Seas hooker

This probably favors Maddux. I really don't want to face him in a park like this. We can't hit HRs off him easily, and he won't walk us. Let's hope for some BABIP magic.

Actually, if you can hit a shot down the lines, it's pretty easty to clear the fence. They have a really short porch in RF (even though we don't have many lefty hitters) right inside the foul pole and it's not all that deep down the left field line (329 ft.) I believe.

Cubs are unbeaten when I'm in attendance this year, so have no fears, I will be there.

I actually had to use my windshield wipers a few times today because it's so moist.

Yeah, it was a pretty solid drizzle today inland. If it's like that inland, it'll be worse along the coast. Looks a bit better for Dodger Stadium starting tomorrow, though.

i used to do a bunch of stage work at the one in texas for their summer concert series, if i didnt have show call for a show and i didnt like the band, i'd wander the park and go wherever i could get wet....but then again it was south texas in the summer

EDIT: of course there was also the Bud house, where they give away "samples," right next to the ampitheater

My sister worked there for 3 summers as well. The free passes for family were nice, but I don't really remember all that much. (see: Bud House)

Geovanny batting 7th is a farce that I rather not acknowledge

Oh well, I have a bad feeling about tonight, I think the win streak ends here. Maddux, in a stadium he loves, in an environment non-conducive to offense, means we are going to be scraping for runs. However, thats not to say the stadium doesn't benefit the flyball tendencies of Lilly.

Still don't feel very confident.

Dear Cubs,

You know, the Brewers have won a couple games here and there and I would like to know if you wanted to maybe not win this one? :beg: No? FINE THEN

Just win the Wild Card and then we're both happy :)

Has Lou explained why he insists on having Fukudome and Edmonds hit back-to-back with better hitters behind him?
